3. Setup & Installation
The MekedeTech Android Car Radio is designed for a plug-and-play installation in your VW Volkswagen Golf Mk 4 (2004-2008). It includes all necessary accessories for installation, such as the dash kit, power cable, RCA cable, reversing camera cable, and USB cables.
3.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected before starting installation.
- Confirm all package contents are present and undamaged.
- Familiarize yourself with your vehicle's dashboard removal process.
3.2 Installation Steps
- Carefully remove the original car radio and dashboard trim.
- Connect the provided power cable and Canbus box to the vehicle's wiring harness.
- Connect the GPS antenna, microphone, reversing camera cable, RCA cables, and USB cables to the corresponding ports on the new head unit. Route cables appropriately to avoid interference.
- Mount the new head unit into the dashboard using the provided dash kit.
- Reconnect the vehicle's battery and turn on the ignition to test the unit.
- Secure all trim pieces back into place.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Functions
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button on the unit or use the vehicle's ignition.
- Volume Control: Adjust volume using the physical knobs on the unit or the steering wheel controls.
- Touch Screen: The 9-inch IPS touch screen with 1024*600 resolution supports multi-touch gestures for navigation and control.
4.2 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto
The unit features built-in wireless CarPlay and wired Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.
For Wireless CarPlay (iOS System):
- Connect your iPhone to the head unit via Bluetooth.
- On the head unit, select the "Car Link" application.
- Wait for the connection to establish. CarPlay can also be connected via a USB cable.
For Wireless Android Auto (Android System):
- Connect your Android phone to the head unit via Bluetooth.
- On the head unit, select the "Car Link" application.
- Wait for the connection to establish. Android Auto can also be connected via a USB cable.

4.3 GPS Navigation
The unit includes a built-in global positioning system (GPS) with support for various map applications. It provides real-time traffic conditions and accurate positioning.
- Access navigation through the dedicated GPS icon on the home screen.
- Supported map types include iGO, Navitel, Yandex, and Google Maps.
- Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed for optimal signal reception.
4.4 Split Screen Functionality
The split-screen feature allows two applications to be displayed simultaneously on the screen, enhancing multitasking and convenience. For example, you can view navigation while playing music or watching a video.

4.5 Bluetooth 5.0
The built-in Bluetooth 5.0 module supports hands-free calling and Bluetooth music streaming.
- Pair your smartphone with the head unit via Bluetooth settings.

4.6 Steering Wheel Control
