5. Setup and Installation

Before you begin, ensure you have the necessary tools: adjustable wrench, pipe tape, screwdriver, and safety glasses.

5.1 Prepare for Installation

Turn off Water Supply: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your home or the specific bathroom and turn it off. Open a nearby faucet to drain any remaining water from the pipes.

Install Shower Arm: Thread the shower arm into the shower outlet in the wall. Hand-tighten, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten further until secure and pointing downwards. Do not overtighten.
Install Flange: Slide the decorative flange over the shower arm, flush against the wall.
Attach Shower Head: Thread the shower head onto the shower arm. Hand-tighten, then use an adjustable wrench to gently tighten. Ensure the shower head is oriented correctly.

5.4 Install Valve Trim

Install Escutcheon Plate: Place the escutcheon plate (faceplate) over the valve body, aligning it with the mounting holes. Secure it with the provided screws.
Install Handle: Attach the handle to the valve stem. Secure it with the set screw, typically located on the underside of the handle.
