Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker. It is recommended to have a second person assist with installation due to the fixture's weight and size.

Tools Required (Not Included):

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Flat Head Screwdriver
  • Wire Strippers
  • Pliers
  • Electrical Tape
  • Ladder

Step-by-Step Installation:

  1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the light fixture's power supply and turn it off. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Prepare Mounting Surface: If replacing an existing fixture, remove it. Ensure the junction box is securely mounted and capable of supporting the fixture's weight.
  3. Attach Mounting Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket (usually included with the canopy) to the junction box using the provided screws.
  4. Adjust Chain Length: Determine the desired hanging height for the fixture. Use pliers to open and remove excess chain links from the 72-inch chain. Thread the fixture's electrical wire through the chain and the canopy.

    • Connect the fixture's white wire to the house's white (neutral) wire.
    • Connect the fixture's ground wire (bare copper or green) to the house's ground wire and the mounting bracket's ground screw.
    • Secure all connections with wire nuts and wrap with electrical tape for added safety.
  6. Mount Canopy: Carefully push the wired canopy up to the ceiling, aligning the canopy screws with the holes in the mounting bracket. Secure the canopy in place.
  7. Install Light Bulb: Insert one E26 base, 60-watt maximum incandescent or equivalent LED bulb (not included) into the socket.
  8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. Test the fixture.
