Setup

1. Powering the Monitor

The DC-X2 monitor supports multiple power options:

  • NP-F Series Battery: Insert a compatible NP-F series lithium battery (e.g., NP-F550, NP-F750, NP-F970) into the battery slot on the back of the monitor.
  • DC Adapter: Connect a 12-18V/2A DC power adapter to the DC IN port.
  • Type-C Power Bank: Connect a Type-C power source with a voltage of ≥ 9V and current of 3A to the Type-C port.

2. Connecting to a Camera

  1. Ensure both the monitor and your camera are powered off.
  2. Connect one end of the HDMI cable (Standard or Mini HDMI, depending on your camera) to the HDMI OUT port on your camera.
  3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN port on the VILTROX DC-X2 monitor.
  4. If you wish to loop out the signal to another monitor, connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port on the DC-X2 to the input of the second monitor.

3. Mounting the Monitor

Attach the monitor to your camera rig or stand using the included VL-550 Cold Shoe Adapter or any standard 1/4-inch screw mount. Ensure the monitor is securely fastened before use.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button on the side of the monitor to turn it on or off.
  • Indicator Light: The indicator light will illuminate when the monitor is powered on.

2. Touch Screen Control

The DC-X2 features an intuitive touch screen interface for easy navigation and control:

  • Single Tap: Tap on icons or menu options to select them.
  • Swipe: Swipe left/right or up/down to navigate through menus or adjust values.
  • Double Tap: Double tap the screen to quickly access the main menu.
  • Pinch-to-Zoom: Use two fingers to pinch in or out to zoom the image.

4. Professional Monitoring Functions

The DC-X2 offers a comprehensive suite of professional monitoring tools:

5. Custom 3D LUTs

The DC-X2 allows you to import custom 3D LUTs to preview different color effects directly on the monitor. This is particularly useful for working with log footage from your camera.

  1. Save your .cube or .dat 3D LUT files onto a USB flash drive.
  2. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB-A port on the monitor.
  3. Navigate to the 3D LUT menu option and select 'Import'.
  4. Choose the desired LUT file from the USB drive to import it to the monitor.
  5. Once imported, you can apply the LUT to your video feed for real-time preview.

Maintenance

  • Battery Care: If using NP-F batteries, follow the manufacturer's guidelines for charging and storage to prolong battery life. Remove batteries if the monitor will not be used for an extended period.
