Setup and Installation

The Sunforce 82182 light is designed for easy installation without the need for main power or complex wiring.

1. Choosing a Location

Select a location for the light fixture that provides adequate coverage for the desired area. For optimal solar panel performance, choose a spot where the solar panel can receive maximum daylight exposure throughout the day. While the amorphous panel charges in all daylight conditions, direct sunlight will yield the best results.

2. Mounting the Light Fixture

  1. Using the provided mounting hardware, securely attach the light fixture to a wall or desired surface. Ensure it is mounted at a height that allows for effective motion detection and light distribution.
  2. Connect the solar panel wire to the light fixture. The 14.7 ft. (4.5m) wire provides flexibility for solar panel placement.

The light features adjustable lamp heads to customize the lighting coverage:

  • The side lamp heads can pivot horizontally to direct light left or right.
  • The side lamp heads can also pivot vertically to direct light up or down.
  • The central light panel can move up and down to further refine the light spread.

Operating Instructions

The Sunforce 82182 is designed for automatic operation.

Automatic Operation

Once installed and charged, the light will automatically turn on when motion is detected within its 30 ft. (9.1m) detection distance and 180-degree detection range. The light will remain on as long as motion is detected and will turn off after a period of no motion, conserving battery life.

Initial Charge

For optimal performance, allow the solar panel to charge the internal batteries for at least 24-48 hours in daylight before first use. This ensures the batteries are fully charged and ready for operation.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your solar security light.

  • Cleaning the Solar Panel: Periodically wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and charging efficiency.
  • Cleaning the Light Fixture: Clean the LED light heads and motion sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth as needed to maintain brightness and sensor sensitivity.
  • Battery Care: The included Lithium-ion batteries are designed for long life. If the light's performance significantly diminishes over time, it may indicate the batteries are reaching the end of their lifespan and may need replacement. Use only compatible rechargeable batteries.
