Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning will help maintain the performance and longevity of your NELO Electric Kettle.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
  3. Interior Cleaning (Hand Wash): The kettle interior should be hand washed. Do not immerse the kettle base or power cord in water or any other liquid.
  4. Tea Infuser Cleaning: Remove the tea infuser and rinse it under running water. For thorough cleaning, it can be gently scrubbed with a small brush.
  5. Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up on the bottom of the kettle, especially in hard water areas.
    • Fill the kettle with 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it stand for 30 minutes.
    • Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times.
    • For stubborn deposits, repeat the process or use a commercial descaling solution designed for kettles, following the product's instructions.
  6. Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a clean, dry place.
