The FeinTech HX240 HDMI 2.1 Extender is designed to transmit HDMI 2.1 signals, including 4K 120Hz HDR, over long distances using a standard network cable (CAT6/7). It supports resolutions up to 4K 120Hz HDR over 30 meters and 4K 60Hz over 50 meters. 4. Product Overview

The FeinTech HX240 system consists of two main units: a Transmitter (TX) and a Receiver (RX).

4.1. Transmitter Unit (TX)

The Transmitter unit connects to your HDMI source device (e.g., gaming console, PC, Blu-ray player). It features an HDMI input, an RJ45 output for the network cable, a DC 12V power input, and an IR OUT port for connecting the IR transmitter cable.

4.2. Receiver Unit (RX)

The Receiver unit connects to your HDMI display device (e.g., TV, projector, monitor). It features an HDMI output, an RJ45 input for the network cable, a DC 12V power input, and an IR IN port for connecting the IR receiver cable.

5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your FeinTech HX240 HDMI Extender:

  1. Connect the HDMI Source: Connect an HDMI cable from your source device (e.g., PC, game console) to the HDMI IN port on the Transmitter (TX) unit.
  2. Connect the HDMI Display: Connect an HDMI cable from your display device (e.g., TV, projector) to the HDMI OUT port on the Receiver (RX) unit.
  3. Connect the Network Cable: Use a single high-quality CAT6 or CAT7 network cable to connect the RJ45 OUT port on the Transmitter (TX) unit to the RJ45 IN port on the Receiver (RX) unit. Ensure the cable is properly terminated and meets the required specifications for the desired distance and resolution.
  4. Connect IR Cables (Optional):
    • To control the source device from the display location: Connect the IR Receiver cable to the IR IN port on the Receiver (RX) unit and place its eye near your display. Connect the IR Transmitter cable to the IR OUT port on the Transmitter (TX) unit and place its emitter eye near the IR sensor of your source device.
    • To control the display device from the source location: Connect the IR Receiver cable to the IR IN port on the Transmitter (TX) unit and place its eye near your source device. Connect the IR Transmitter cable to the IR OUT port on the Receiver (RX) unit and place its emitter eye near the IR sensor of your display device.
  5. Apply Power: Connect the two provided DC 12V power adapters to the DC 12V input ports on both the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) units. Plug the power adapters into electrical outlets.
  6. Power On: Power on your HDMI source device and display device. The extender units are plug-and-play and should establish a connection automatically.

6. Operating Instructions

The FeinTech HX240 HDMI Extender operates on a plug-and-play principle, requiring no special software or drivers. Once all connections are made and power is supplied, the units will automatically detect the signal and begin transmission.

6.1. Signal Transmission

The extender will transmit the HDMI signal from the source to the display. Ensure your source device is outputting a compatible resolution and refresh rate for your display and the extender's capabilities (up to 4K 120Hz HDR).

6.2. IR Pass-Through

The IR pass-through function allows you to control your source device from the display location or your display device from the source location using your existing remote control. Point your remote at the IR receiver eye, and the signal will be transmitted through the network cable to the IR emitter at the other end, controlling the respective device.
