2. Setup and Assembly
The ENGWE EASE1 Mobility Scooter requires minimal assembly. Follow these steps to prepare your scooter for use:
- Unboxing and Component Check: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts, including the main scooter body, seat, armrests, basket, charger, and installation tools (wrenches, Allen keys), are present.
- Folding Riser Installation: Ensure the folding riser is securely in place.
- Seat Installation: Insert the seat post into the designated slot on the scooter body. Press the seat fixed rod to lock the seat securely.
- Armrest Installation: Install the left and right armrests onto the seat frame. Adjust them for comfort and secure them.
- Basket Installation: Attach the detachable basket to the front of the handlebar column. Press and tighten it down firmly.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Control Panel Overview

- ON/OFF Switch: Turns the scooter's power on or off.
- Speed Adjustment Knob: Rotate clockwise to increase speed, counter-clockwise to decrease.
- Battery Life Indicator: Displays the current battery charge level.
- Forward/Backward Controls: Use the right thumb throttle for forward movement and the left thumb throttle for backward movement.

3.2 Electric Mode Operation
Before operating the scooter in electric mode, ensure the brake lever is adjusted backward to release the brake. This allows the scooter to move under power. If the brake is in the forward (manual) position, the electric function will not engage, and an alarm may sound.

3.3 Manual Mode (Push Only)
To move the scooter manually without electric power, push the brake lever forward to engage manual mode. In this mode, the electric functions (driving and braking) are disabled, and the scooter can only be pushed by hand.

3.4 Safety Features
- Slope Safety Mechanism: The scooter's default state is 'parked' to ensure it remains motionless, even on inclines, enhancing safety for users with mobility challenges.

4. Maintenance
