3. Setup Guide

3.1 Charging the Doorbell Camera

Before initial use, fully charge the doorbell camera using the provided USB charging cable. Connect the cable to the camera's charging port and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The indicator light will show charging status.

3.2 Installing the SD Card

The doorbell camera supports local storage via a 32GB SD card, which may be pre-installed. If not, locate the SD card slot (usually under a rubber cover or on the side/back) and insert the card with the contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.

3.3 App Installation and Account Creation

Download the companion mobile application from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android). Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new user account and log in.

3.4 Connecting to 2.4GHz WiFi

The KALOGL Doorbell Camera connects exclusively to 2.4GHz WiFi networks. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network during the setup process. Open the app, select "Add Device," and follow the prompts to connect your doorbell camera to your home WiFi network. This typically involves scanning a QR code generated by the app with the doorbell camera.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Charging

Regularly monitor the battery level of your doorbell camera via the app. When the battery is low, remove the camera from its mount and recharge it using the USB cable. It is important to keep the battery charged to avoid the device logging out and requiring a re-login process to the network.

5.2 SD Card Management

The 32GB SD card will automatically overwrite older footage once full. Periodically review and back up any important recordings to your smartphone or another storage device if needed. You can format the SD card through the app settings if you encounter recording issues.

5.3 Cleaning the Camera Lens

To ensure clear video quality, gently clean the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth as needed to remove dust, dirt, or smudges.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Cannot connect to WiFi: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz WiFi signal. The doorbell camera does not support 5GHz networks. Verify your smartphone is connected to the 2.4GHz network during setup. If using a combined 2.4GHz/5GHz network, try separating the bands or temporarily disabling 5GHz during setup. Some specific router configurations (e.g., T-Mobile WiFi) may require additional adjustments or may not be fully compatible.
  • Device keeps logging out / requires re-login: This often occurs if the battery completely drains. Ensure the doorbell camera is regularly charged. If the issue persists after charging, try resetting the device and re-pairing it with the app.
  • Poor video or audio quality: Check your WiFi signal strength at the doorbell's location. A weak signal can affect performance. Ensure the camera lens is clean. If audio is unclear, check for obstructions around the microphone and speaker.
  • No motion detection alerts: Verify that motion detection is enabled in the app settings and that the sensitivity is appropriately configured. Ensure the camera's view is not obstructed.
  • App issues (e.g., ads, limited features): App functionality and features can change with updates. Refer to the app's help section or the manufacturer's support for information on current features and any optional subscription services.
  • Device not responding: Try performing a hard reset on the doorbell camera (refer to the device for a reset button, usually a small pinhole). After resetting, attempt to re-add the device to the app.
