5.1 Speaker Placement Guidelines

For optimal 5.1 surround sound, position your speakers as follows:

  • Center Speaker: Directly above or below your TV/display.
  • Front Left & Right Speakers: Equidistant from the TV, forming an equilateral triangle with your primary listening position.
  • Surround Left & Right Speakers: To the sides or slightly behind your primary listening position, facing inwards.
  • Subwoofer: Can be placed anywhere in the room, often best in a corner or near a wall for enhanced bass. Experiment with placement for the best sound.

  • Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to gently clean dust from speaker grilles.

7.2 Storage

If storing the system for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and stored in a cool, well-ventilated area, preferably in its original packaging to protect it from dust and physical damage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Bobtot Home Theater System, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound from speakers.
  • Power not connected.
  • Incorrect input mode selected.
  • Volume too low or muted.
  • Speaker cables loose.
  • Source device not playing audio.
  • Ensure power cable is securely plugged in and unit is turned on.
  • Select the correct input mode (e.g., ARC, OPT, BT).
  • Increase volume and check if mute is active.
  • Verify all satellite speaker cables are firmly connected to the subwoofer.
  • Check audio output settings on your source device.
Bluetooth not connecting.
  • Not in Bluetooth mode.
  • Device too far.
  • Previously paired with another device.
  • Ensure system is in 'BT' mode.
  • Move your device closer to the subwoofer (within 33 inches).
  • Disconnect from other devices or try re-pairing.
Sound distortion or buzzing.
  • Loose cable connections.
  • Source audio quality.
  • Interference.
  • Check all audio cable connections.
  • Test with a different audio source or file.
  • Move system away from other electronic devices.
Remote control not working.
  • Dead batteries.
  • Obstruction between remote and subwoofer.
  • Remote sensor blocked.
  • Replace batteries (2x AAA).
  • Ensure a clear line of sight to the subwoofer's remote sensor.
  • Clean the remote sensor on the subwoofer.
System volume defaults to 45 after power off (not standby). This is a known system behavior when the unit is fully powered off via the rear switch, not just put into standby.Always use the 'ST.BY' button on the remote or front panel to put the unit into standby mode. This will retain the last volume setting. If you power off completely, be prepared to adjust the volume down quickly upon restart.
Cannot adjust individual front/surround speakers. The system allows individual adjustment for Center and Subwoofer. Front speakers are adjusted together, and Surround speakers are adjusted together. This is by design. Use the 'FRONT' button to adjust both front speakers simultaneously and the 'SURR' button to adjust both surround speakers simultaneously.

If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact Bobtot customer support for further assistance.
