5. Installation

5.1 Camera Installation

The camera is designed for quick DIY installation, typically within 3 minutes, requiring only a screwdriver.

  1. Attach the Camera: Position the solar-powered wireless backup camera onto your vehicle's license plate.
  2. Secure with Screws: Use the provided anti-theft screws to firmly attach the camera to the license plate frame.

5.2 Monitor Installation

The monitor can be mounted in two ways using the provided suction cup mount:

  • Dashboard Mount: Attach the suction cup to a clean, flat surface on your dashboard.
  • Windshield Mount: Attach the suction cup to a clean area of your windshield.

Power the monitor using the cigarette lighter adapter or by connecting it directly to your vehicle's power cable.

6. Powering the System

The camera is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery and solar panel, while the monitor is powered via the vehicle's electrical system.

6.1 Camera Power

  • Solar Charging: The integrated solar panel continuously charges the camera's battery during daylight hours.
  • USB-C Charging: For initial charge or in low sunlight conditions, use the provided USB to Type-C cable to charge the camera. A full charge takes approximately 4.5 hours and can provide up to 24 hours of continuous use.

6.2 Monitor Power

The monitor is powered by connecting the provided cigarette lighter adapter or power cable to your vehicle's 12V power outlet.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Turn on the monitor to activate the system. The camera will automatically connect.
  • Viewing Modes: The monitor defaults to CAM1. Press the (△) button to switch between single camera view or dual split-screen mode if a second camera is connected.

7.2 Image Flip Function

The system supports 4 kinds of image flip options (Mirror, Flip, Mirror-Flip, Original) to accommodate various mounting positions and preferences. These settings can be adjusted through the monitor's menu.

7.3 Video Recording Function

The system includes a video recording function. When an SD card is inserted, it records high-quality video at an optimal frame rate. It supports cyclic recording, automatically overwriting older footage when the card is full. In case of an accident, the system saves relevant video footage separately.

7.4 Energy-Saving Mode

To conserve battery, the camera enters an energy-saving sleep mode when the monitor is turned off. You can also configure an automatic sleep mode for the monitor (30s/60s/90s) via the system menu.
