Setup

1. Charging the Controller

Before first use, fully charge the controller using the included USB-C cable. Connect the USB-C end to the controller and the USB-A end to a powered USB port (e.g., PC, wall adapter). The LED indicator will show charging status.

A full charge provides up to 20 hours of playtime.

2. Connecting the Controller

The Battle Dragon™ controller supports three connection methods:

Connection options: PC via 2.4GHz or Wired USB-C, and other Android devices via Bluetooth.

  1. 2.4GHz Wireless (for PC):
    • Insert the 2.4GHz USB adapter into an available USB port on your PC.
    • Press and hold the Sync button on the top of the controller until the LED indicator blinks rapidly.
    • The controller will automatically pair with the adapter. The LED will become solid when connected.
  2. Bluetooth (for Android Mobile, Tablets, Smart TVs):
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
    • Press and hold the Sync button on the top of the controller until the LED indicator blinks rapidly.
    • On your device, search for Bluetooth devices and select "PowerA Battle Dragon" (or similar name) to pair. The LED will become solid when connected.
  3. Wired USB-C (for PC):
    • Connect the USB-C cable to the controller and the USB-A end to your PC.
    • The controller will be recognized automatically by your PC.

Operation

Mode Switching (X-INPUT / D-INPUT)

The controller supports both X-INPUT (default) and D-INPUT modes for broader compatibility.

  1. Default: X-INPUT MODE.
  2. Switch to D-INPUT MODE: Press the SELECT and START buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  3. The LED indicator will flash 3 times to confirm the mode has been changed.

Advanced Gaming Buttons & Trigger Locks

The controller features four mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons (AGB) on the back and 3-way adjustable trigger locks.

  • Mapping AGBs:
    1. Press the Program button on the back of the controller. The LED will blink.
    2. Press the button you wish to map (e.g., A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LT, RT, L3, R3, D-pad).
    3. Press the Advanced Gaming Button (AGB1, AGB2, AGB3, or AGB4) you wish to assign the function to. The LED will stop blinking, indicating successful mapping.
    4. To clear a mapping, press the Program button, then press the AGB you wish to clear twice.
  • 3-Way Trigger Locks:

    Adjust the physical switches next to the triggers to set the desired trigger travel distance:

    • Position 1 (Full Travel): Standard trigger pull for general gaming.
    • Position 2 (Medium Travel): Reduced travel for faster response in many games.
    • Position 3 (Shortest Travel): Minimal travel for rapid firing in shooting games.

Turbo Button

The Turbo button allows for rapid, continuous input of a selected button without repeated pressing.

  • Activating Turbo: Press and hold the Turbo button, then press the desired action button (e.g., A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, Select, Start). The selected button will now rapidly repeat its input when held down.
  • Deactivating Turbo: Press and hold the Turbo button, then press the action button again.

App Support for Customization

Download the free PowerA Battle Dragon App (PC HQ App) to test, calibrate, and customize your controller settings, including stick and trigger dead zones, button mapping, and rumble intensity.

Note: The app supports wired USB-C and 2.4GHz Wireless connections only.

Maintenance

  • Clean the controller regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the controller, as this will void the warranty.

Troubleshooting

  • Controller not connecting:
    • Ensure the controller is fully charged.
    • Verify the correct connection method (2.4GHz adapter, Bluetooth pairing, or wired USB-C).
    • Try restarting your PC or device.
    • For 2.4GHz, try a different USB port.
  • Stick Drift or Inaccurate Input:
    • Use the PowerA Battle Dragon App to calibrate the thumb sticks and triggers.
    • Ensure the controller firmware is up to date via the app.
  • Buttons not responding:
    • Check if any buttons are stuck.
    • Ensure the controller is properly connected and recognized by your system.
    • If using the Turbo feature, ensure it's not inadvertently activated on the non-responsive button.
