3.2 Connecting the Device

The P4 supports both OBD and GPS power supply methods. Choose the appropriate connection based on your vehicle's compatibility.

  1. OBD Connection (Recommended for compatible vehicles):

Locate your vehicle's OBD-II port, typically found under the dashboard on the driver's side. Connect the provided OBD cable to the P4 host unit and then to the vehicle's OBD-II port. The device will draw power and data directly from the vehicle's system.

  2. USB Connection (For GPS mode or incompatible OBD systems):

If your vehicle is a diesel, manufactured before 2009, or if the OBD system is not compatible, use the provided USB cable. Connect one end to the P4 host unit and the other end to a USB power source in your vehicle (e.g., a USB car charger or a vehicle's USB port). This will power the device for GPS mode operation.

5. Maintenance and Care

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your AZIJYV P4 display, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the display screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray directly onto the device.
  • Temperature: Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for extended periods, as this may affect its performance and lifespan.
  • Storage: If storing the device for a long time, disconnect it from power and keep it in a cool, dry place.
  • Handling: Handle the device with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your AZIJYV P4 display.

6.1 No Display/No Power

  • Check Connection: Ensure the OBD cable or USB cable is securely connected to both the device and the vehicle's port/power source.
  • Vehicle Ignition: If using OBD mode, ensure the vehicle's ignition is on.
  • USB Power Source: If using USB, try a different USB port or car charger to rule out a faulty power source.

6.2 Inaccurate Speed/Data

  • GPS Signal: In GPS mode, ensure the device has a clear view of the sky for satellite acquisition. Parking in an open area can help.
  • OBD Compatibility: If in OBD mode, verify your vehicle is compatible (gasoline vehicle manufactured after 2009). If not, switch to GPS mode.
  • Unit Settings: Check if the speed unit (KM/H or MPH) is correctly set in the device's settings.
  • Calibration: Some parameters might require calibration. Refer to the detailed manual for specific calibration procedures if available.

6.3 Alarms Triggering Incorrectly

  • Alarm Thresholds: Review and adjust the alarm thresholds (e.g., overspeed limit, RPM limit) in the device settings.
  • Sensor Readings: If an alarm (e.g., water temperature, voltage) seems to trigger without a real issue, consult a professional mechanic to check your vehicle's sensors.

6.4 Display Not Clear/Too Bright/Too Dim

  • Brightness Settings: Adjust the display brightness in the device's settings. The device has a photosensitive hole for automatic brightness adjustment; ensure it is not obstructed.
  • Screen Cleanliness: Clean the screen with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or smudges.
