1. Introduction

The HTZSAFE Smart Motion Sensor is a weather-resistant WiFi motion detector designed for outdoor home security. It provides remote app notifications and is compatible with smart home systems like Alexa, offering a reliable solution to guard your property without requiring a hub or monthly fees.

  • Outdoor Protection: Alerts you to motion and deters intruders before they enter your property. Ideal for various outdoor areas including front doors, garages, yards, porches, sheds, and windows.
  • Weather Resistant: Built to withstand diverse weather conditions, operating effectively from -30°F to 150°F (-34°C to 65°C).
  • Wide Detection Range: Detects moving people from 35 feet (low sensitivity) to 50 feet (high sensitivity). Features an improved motion detection chip to minimize false alarms from environmental factors.
  • Remote App Notifications: Works with Smart Life app and is compatible with Alexa. Receive instant mobile notifications when motion is detected. No hub required, no monthly fees.

3. Components and Parts

Familiarize yourself with the main components of your HTZSAFE Smart Motion Sensor:

  • Housing: The main body of the sensor, providing protection for internal components.
  • Sensor Eye: The infrared sensor responsible for detecting motion.
  • Sensitivity Switch: Located inside the battery compartment, allows adjustment between low (35ft) and high (50ft) detection ranges.
  • Setting Button/Indicator Light: Used for pairing and indicates device status.
  • Battery Compartment: Holds 3x AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries (not included).
  • Ball-Joint Mounting Plate: For flexible mounting and angle adjustment.

4. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your HTZSAFE Smart Motion Sensor:

  1. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment and insert 3x AA 1.5V Alkaline batteries. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Power On: Ensure the device is powered off for at least 10 seconds before powering it on.
  3. Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the reset button (Setting Button) on the device for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator light starts flashing. The device is now in waiting network mode.
  4. Download App: Download the "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  5. Add Device in App: Open the Smart Life app, register or log in. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The app will use Bluetooth to discover the sensor and then guide you through connecting it to your WiFi network.
  6. Mount Sensor: Choose a suitable location for mounting, such as a wall near your front door, garage, or yard. Use the ball-joint mounting plate to secure the sensor and adjust its angle for optimal coverage.

5. Operating Instructions

Once set up, your HTZSAFE Smart Motion Sensor will begin monitoring the designated area. When motion is detected, it will send an instant notification to your Smart Life app.

  • App Notifications: Ensure your smartphone has notifications enabled for the Smart Life app to receive real-time alerts.
  • Sensitivity Adjustment: The sensor has two adjustable sensitivities: Low (approx. 35ft detection) and High (approx. 50ft detection). To change the sensitivity, you must access the sensitivity switch inside the battery compartment. This may require removing the sensor from its mounted position.
  • Alexa Integration: To integrate with Alexa, enable the Smart Life skill in your Alexa app and link your Smart Life account. You can then create routines based on motion detection (e.g.,
