Introduction

Important Safeguards

Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials and components.
2. Clean: Before first use, wash the carafe, lid, and removable filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth.
3. First Brew Cycle (Cleaning): Fill the water reservoir to the MAX fill line with clean water. Place the empty carafe with its lid on the warming plate. Do not add coffee grounds. Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle. Allow the cycle to complete. Discard the water from the carafe. Repeat this process once more to ensure thorough cleaning.
4. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.

Operating Instructions

1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid of the coffee maker. Fill the glass carafe with the desired amount of fresh, cold water (up to 5 cups). Pour the water into the water reservoir. Do not exceed the MAX fill line indicated on the water level window.

2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place the removable filter basket into its holder. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter basket. For best results, use 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Close the top lid securely.

3. Position Carafe: Ensure the empty glass carafe with its lid is correctly placed on the warming plate.
4. Start Brewing: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Press the ON/OFF button. The indicator light will illuminate, signaling that the brewing cycle has started.
5. Pause & Pour: The coffee maker features an auto-pause function. You can temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The flow of coffee will stop automatically. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
6. Auto Shut-off: After the brewing cycle is complete, the warming plate will keep the coffee hot for 2 hours. The coffee maker will then automatically shut off for safety and energy saving.
7. Serve: Once brewing is complete, carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate and pour your coffee.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

1. Daily Cleaning: After each use, unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely. Remove the filter basket and discard any used coffee grounds. Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface. Never immerse the coffee maker in water or other liquids.
3. Descaling (Monthly or as needed): Mineral deposits from water can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. To descale:
   • Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water.
   • Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
   • Press the ON/OFF button to start a brew cycle.
   • After approximately 5 minutes, press the ON/OFF button to turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
   • Press the ON/OFF button again to complete the brew cycle.
   • Discard the vinegar solution.
   • Run 2-3 cycles with clean, cold water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.
