5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DDcafor garage door opener keypad or remote, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Remote not working or inconsistent:
- Double-check if the remote's working mode matches your opener's learn button color. Sometimes, the learn button color in documentation might be incorrect; try changing to another mode.
- Replace the battery in the remote. A fresh battery can resolve short range or intermittent operation issues.
- Keypad not working or difficult to program:
- Ensure you are pressing the '*' and '#' buttons simultaneously until a beep is heard before entering the PIN.
- Verify the correct number of ENTER presses for your specific garage door opener type (based on learn button color).
- New remote cancelled old ones: If programming a new remote erases previously programmed remotes, your opener's memory might be full. Try erasing all remotes from the opener's memory (Section 3.3) and then reprogram all desired remotes.
- Door must be closed for programming: Sometimes, the garage door must be in the closed position for successful programming.
- Certain button doesn't work: If one button on the remote is unresponsive, try programming the opener using a different button on the remote.
