Product Overview

The MOJOGEAR Swift Tripod (MG-T03) is constructed from durable aluminum and plastic, offering a balance of strength and portability. Key features include:

  • Adjustable Legs: Three-section legs with quick-release locks for height adjustment.
  • Detachable Monopod: One leg can be removed and used as a standalone monopod.
  • Reversible Center Column: Allows for low-angle and macro photography.
  • Arca Swiss Quick Release Plate: For fast and secure camera mounting.
  • Ball Head: Provides flexible positioning for your camera.
  • Spirit Level: Integrated for precise leveling.

Setup

1. Unfolding the Tripod

  1. Gently pull the legs outwards until they are fully extended or at your desired angle.
  2. Loosen the leg section locks (usually flip-locks or twist-locks) and extend each leg section to the desired height. Securely tighten all locks.
  3. Adjust the center column height by loosening its lock, raising or lowering, and then tightening the lock.

2. Attaching Your Camera or Smartphone

  1. For Cameras: The tripod head features an Arca Swiss quick release plate. Unscrew the plate from the ball head. Attach the plate to your camera's 1/4-inch tripod socket by twisting the screw on the plate. Ensure it is tight. Slide the plate with the camera back into the ball head clamp and secure the clamp lever.
  2. For Smartphones: Use the provided smartphone holder. Attach the holder to the 1/4-inch screw on the quick release plate (or directly to the ball head if preferred). Secure your smartphone within the holder.

Operating

1. Adjusting the Ball Head

Loosen the main knob on the ball head to adjust the camera's angle. Once the desired position is achieved, tighten the knob firmly to lock the camera in place. Use the integrated spirit level to ensure your horizon is straight.

2. Using as a Monopod

One of the tripod legs features a foam grip and can be detached to function as a monopod. To detach, unscrew the leg from the tripod body. The monopod can extend up to 180 cm and has a 3/8-inch screw for direct camera or accessory attachment.

3. Reversible Center Column for Macro Photography

For low-angle or macro photography, the center column can be inverted. Loosen the stabilization hook at the bottom of the center column, then remove the column. Reinsert the column upside down into the tripod body, allowing your camera to hang between the legs, closer to the ground.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the tripod after each use with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, dirt, and moisture. For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • Lubrication: Periodically check leg locks and moving parts for smooth operation. If necessary, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to ensure smooth movement. Avoid oil-based lubricants.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure all locks are slightly loosened during long-term storage to prevent stress on components.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the tripod for any signs of wear, damage, or loose parts. Address any issues promptly to maintain optimal performance and safety.

Troubleshooting

1. Tripod is Unstable

  • Ensure all leg section locks are fully tightened.
  • Verify that the legs are spread evenly and fully extended to their stops.
  • Check if the ground surface is level. Adjust leg lengths if necessary or relocate to a more stable area.
  • Ensure the camera or device mounted does not exceed the maximum load capacity of 4 kg.

2. Camera/Smartphone Not Securely Attached

  • For cameras, ensure the quick release plate screw is tightly fastened to the camera body and the plate clamp on the ball head is fully secured.
  • For smartphones, ensure the smartphone holder is firmly attached to the tripod head and the phone is securely gripped within the holder.

3. Leg Sections or Center Column Sticking

  • Clean the leg sections and center column to remove any dirt or debris.
  • Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the moving parts if necessary.
