Setup Instructions
1. Optimal Placement
For best performance, place the WiFi Repeater in a location that receives a strong signal from your main router and is centrally located to the areas needing extended coverage. Avoid placing it too close or too far from the main router.

Image: Visual guide for optimal WiFi Repeater placement, indicating that the device should be positioned between 10 to 40 feet from the main router for effective signal extension.
2. Power On
Plug the WiFi Repeater into a power outlet. Wait for the indicator lights to stabilize.
3. Configuration Methods
There are two primary methods to configure your AILKIN WiFi Repeater:
Method A: WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- Press the WPS button on your main router.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the AILKIN WiFi Repeater.
- The repeater will automatically connect to your router. Wait for the signal indicator light on the repeater to show a stable connection.
Method B: Web Browser Setup
- Connect your computer or mobile device to the repeater's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "AILKIN_XXXX"). No password is required initially.
- Open a web browser and enter the default IP address or domain name (usually found in the included manual or on the device label).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your desired operating mode (Repeater, AP, or Router) and configure network settings, including selecting your main Wi-Fi network and entering its password.
- Once configured, the repeater will restart. Reconnect your devices to the new extended Wi-Fi network.
Operating Modes
The AILKIN WiFi Repeater supports three operational modes:
1. Repeater Mode
In Repeater Mode, the device extends the coverage of an existing wireless network. It receives the Wi-Fi signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it, effectively eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones.

2. Access Point (AP) Mode
In AP Mode, the device transforms a wired network connection into a wireless one. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or modem to the repeater's LAN port, and it will create a new Wi-Fi hotspot.
3. Router Mode
In Router Mode, the device acts as a primary router, connecting directly to your modem via an Ethernet cable to create a new private network.
Ethernet Port Usage
The two LAN ports can be used to connect wired devices such as desktop computers, gaming consoles, or smart TVs, providing a stable and fast connection.

Maintenance
- Keep the device in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Clean the device periodically with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- If the device experiences issues, a soft reset (unplugging and replugging after 3-5 minutes) can often resolve temporary glitches.
- For persistent issues, a factory reset may be necessary. Refer to the troubleshooting section for details.
Troubleshooting
Repeater Stops Working / Indicator Light Off
If the repeater suddenly stops functioning or its indicator lights are off, consider the following:
- Too Many Routers: Ensure your network setup is not overly complex with conflicting devices.
- Continuous Operation: Prolonged continuous operation can sometimes lead to temporary issues.
- Router Signal Source: Verify that the main router is broadcasting a stable signal.
Solution: Unplug the repeater from the power outlet. Wait for 3 to 5 minutes, then plug it back in. The repeater has a memory function and should automatically reconnect to your Wi-Fi. If the issue persists, a factory reset may be required.
Factory Reset
A factory reset will restore the repeater to its default settings. This is useful if you forget your configuration password or encounter persistent network issues.
- With the repeater powered on, locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole).
- Use a paperclip or a thin object to press and hold the reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the indicator lights flash.
- Release the button. The repeater will restart with factory default settings. You will need to reconfigure it using either the WPS or web browser method.
Poor Signal Strength
If the extended Wi-Fi signal is weak, review the "Optimal Placement" section. Ensure the repeater is positioned correctly between your main router and the desired coverage area.
