Setup
1. Charging the Battery
Your walkie talkies come with rechargeable Lithium Polymer batteries. For optimal performance, fully charge the devices before first use.
- Locate the USB-C charging port on the side or bottom of the walkie talkie.
- Connect one end of the provided USB-C charging cable to the walkie talkie.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
- The battery indicator on the LCD display will show charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charging cable.

2. Turning On/Off
- To turn on: Press and hold the Power (U) button until the LCD display lights up.
- To turn off: Press and hold the Power (U) button until the LCD display turns off.
Operating Instructions
1. Adjusting Volume
While the walkie talkie is on, use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to adjust the speaker volume. The volume level will be displayed on the LCD.
2. Selecting a Channel
The T-388 has 22 main channels. To communicate with another walkie talkie, both devices must be on the same channel and sub-channel.
- Press the MENU button once. The channel number on the LCD will flash.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
- Press the TALK button to confirm your selection and exit the menu, or press MENU again to proceed to sub-channel settings.
3. Setting a Sub-Channel (CTCSS/DCS)
The T-388 supports 99 sub-channels (privacy codes) to minimize interference from other users on the same main channel. Both walkie talkies must have the same main channel and sub-channel to communicate.
- Press the MENU button twice. The sub-channel number on the LCD will flash.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select your desired sub-channel (0-99). Setting to 0 disables the sub-channel.
- Press the TALK button to confirm your selection and exit the menu, or press MENU again to proceed to other settings.
4. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit: Press and hold the TALK (PTT) button. Speak clearly into the microphone, holding the walkie talkie approximately 5-10 cm from your mouth. Release the button when you finish speaking.
- To receive: Simply listen. The walkie talkie will automatically receive signals when the TALK button is not pressed.

5. Monitor Function
The MON button allows you to temporarily disable the squelch function to listen for weak signals on the current channel. This can be useful for checking if a channel is clear before transmitting or for hearing faint transmissions.
- Press and hold the MON button to listen to the channel.
- Release the MON button to return to normal operation.
6. Call Alert (Ring Tone)
To send a call alert to other walkie talkies on the same channel and sub-channel:
- Press the TALK button twice quickly. A ring tone will be transmitted.
7. Roger Beep
The Roger Beep is an audible tone transmitted when you release the TALK button, signaling to other users that you have finished speaking. This feature can be enabled or disabled via the menu.
- Press the MENU button multiple times until the Roger Beep icon appears on the LCD.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to turn the Roger Beep ON or OFF.
- Press the TALK button to confirm and exit.
8. VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
VOX allows you to transmit without pressing the TALK button. The walkie talkie will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.
- Press the MENU button multiple times until the VOX icon appears on the LCD.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select a VOX sensitivity level (e.g., 1-3, with 3 being most sensitive) or turn VOX OFF.
- Press the TALK button to confirm and exit.
9. Keypad Lock
The keypad lock prevents accidental changes to your settings.
- To lock: Press and hold the MENU button until the Key Lock icon appears on the LCD.
- To unlock: Press and hold the MENU button again until the Key Lock icon disappears.
10. Integrated Flashlight
The walkie talkie includes a small flashlight for convenience.
- To turn on/off: Press the LAMP button.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the walkie talkie with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the devices in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, ensure batteries are partially charged (around 50%) to prolong battery life.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge when the battery indicator is low.
- Water Exposure: These walkie talkies are not water resistant. Protect them from rain, splashes, and submersion.
