GODIYMODULES ZK-6522C-1 Stabilized Voltage Power Supply Step-Down Module

User Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

The GODIYMODULES ZK-6522C-1 is a high-power DC-DC step-down module designed for stabilized voltage and current regulation. It features a 1.8-inch large color screen display for intuitive operation and supports serial communication via standard MODBUS protocol. This module is suitable for various applications requiring precise control over output voltage and current.

Key features include:

  • LCD display board with sinking gold process for reliable contact and long-term display integrity.
  • Independent silicone keys for quick voltage and current adjustments.
  • Flexible motherboard design supporting stepless adjustment of current and voltage.
  • PCB immersion gold process to prevent key failure and improve conductivity.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Components Included

  • Step-down module (ZK-6522C-1) x 1
  • Meter head (display unit) x 1
  • Connection cable x 1

2.2 Physical Connections

Connect the input power source (DC 6-75V) to the 'IN+' and 'IN-' terminals. Connect your load to the 'OUT+' and 'OUT-' terminals. Ensure correct polarity to prevent damage. The meter head connects to the main board via the provided connection cable to one of the dual communication ports.

2.3 Independent Motherboard Use (ZK-6522B)

If using the ZK-6522B motherboard separately without the standard meter head, it is necessary to solder external voltage and current adjustment potentiometers. These connect to the designated jumper cap pins. If using serial communication (APP/Upper computer control), the jumper cap must be unplugged, and the module powered on again.

3.6 Calibration Steps

Calibration ensures accurate voltage and current readings. It is recommended to use a multimeter for precise measurements.

  1. Voltage Calibration:
    1. Measure the actual voltage at the output terminals with a multimeter.
    2. Short press OK/↓ to display voltage.
    3. Measure the actual voltage at the current output terminal again and input it.
    4. Short press OK/↓ to complete the calibration.
    5. If successful, the display will show "CALI Success"; otherwise, "CALI Failed".
  2. Current Calibration:
    1. Use a multimeter to measure the actual current at the output terminals (output current terminal and measure the current actual current and input it).
    2. Short press OK/↓ to display current.
    3. Use a multimeter to measure the actual current at the current output terminal again and input it.
    4. Short press OK/↓ to complete the calibration.

4. Maintenance

The ZK-6522C-1 module is designed for durability and reliability. The PCB immersion gold process helps prevent key failure and oxidation of circuit board pads, improving conductivity and reducing impedance.

  • Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the module, especially during high-power operation, to prevent overheating.
  • Avoid exposing the module to excessive moisture or corrosive environments.
  • Regularly check connections for tightness and ensure no loose wires are present.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Display shows Chinese characters:
When first powered on, the display may be in Chinese. To change the language to English: Go to the 3rd menu page (rotate the encoder right 3 clicks). Press the M/↑ button until you are on the settings option above "115200" (this is the language setting). Rotate the knob to switch to English. Press the M/↑ button until you exit the settings page.
  • Inaccurate Voltage/Current Readings:
Perform a calibration as described in Section 3.6. Ensure your multimeter is accurate.
  • No Output Voltage/Current:
    1. Check input power supply connections and ensure it is within the 6-75V DC range.
    2. Verify output connections to the load.
    3. Ensure the output is enabled (short press OK/↓ to toggle output ON/OFF).
    4. Check for active protection features (OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP, OUP). If any are triggered, the output will be disabled. Adjust protection limits if necessary.
  • Display Not Working or Incomplete:
Check the connection cable between the main module and the meter head. The LCD display board's sinking gold process is designed to prevent oxidized poor contact, but ensure the connection is secure.
  • Module Overheating:
Ensure adequate ventilation. Reduce load if operating near maximum power continuously. Check if the cooling fan (if present) is operating correctly.
