Please read this manual thoroughly before first use to ensure safe operation and optimal performance. Keep this manual for future reference.

Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions carefully before operating the appliance.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating. See "Operating Instructions".
  • Never force open the pressure cooker. Make sure the pressure has dropped completely before opening.
  • Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full.
  • Always check the pressure release valve and float valve for clogging before use.
  • Do not use this pressure cooker for deep frying with oil.
  • This appliance is not dishwasher safe.

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Wash the inner pot, lid, and accessories (rice spoon, measuring cup) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Assemble: Place the inner pot into the main unit. Ensure it sits properly.
  4. Lid Placement: Place the lid on the cooker, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the main unit handle. Rotate the lid clockwise until it locks into place.
  5. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the cooker's power inlet at the back, then plug the other end into a grounded 120V electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Vikye Electric Pressure Cooker features an intelligent control system with various preset functions for convenient cooking.

  • Display: Shows cooking time, pressure status, and error codes.
  • Function Buttons: RICE, SOUP, CHICKEN, TENDON, RIBS, FISH, PORRIDGE, MEAT, BEEF AND MUTTON. Selects specific cooking programs.
  • +/- Buttons: Adjusts cooking time or preset time.
  • WARM/CANCEL: Cancels current cooking program or activates/deactivates keep-warm function.
  • TASTE CHOOSE: Adjusts cooking taste (e.g., Fragrance, Standard, Rich for rice).
  • PRESET: Sets a delayed start time for cooking.

General Cooking Steps

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place your ingredients and the required amount of liquid into the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line (2/3 full, or 1/2 full for expanding foods).
  2. Close Lid: Place the lid on the cooker and rotate it clockwise until it locks securely. Ensure the pressure release valve is in the "Sealing" position.
  3. Select Function: Press the desired function button (e.g., RICE, SOUP). The display will show a default cooking time.
  4. Adjust Settings (Optional):
    • Use the +/- buttons to adjust the cooking time if needed.
    • Press TASTE CHOOSE to select your preferred taste setting (if available for the selected function).
    • To set a delayed start, press PRESET, then use +/- to set the delay time.
  5. Start Cooking: The cooker will automatically begin the preheating process, then build pressure, and finally start the cooking countdown.
  6. Pressure Release: Once cooking is complete, the cooker will beep and automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function.
    • Natural Release: Allow the pressure to release naturally. This is recommended for foamy foods or large cuts of meat. The float valve will drop when pressure is fully released.
    • Quick Release: Carefully turn the pressure release valve to the "Venting" position. Use caution as hot steam will be released. Do not use quick release for foamy foods.
  7. Open Lid: Once the float valve has dropped, indicating all pressure is released, rotate the lid counter-clockwise and lift it carefully away from your face.

Note: The heat preservation function can keep food warm for up to 24 hours.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your pressure cooker.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pot: Wash the inner pot with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The inner pot is not dishwasher safe.
  3. Lid: Wash the lid, including the sealing ring, pressure release valve, and float valve, with warm, soapy water. Ensure all food particles are removed from the valves. Rinse and dry.
  4. Sealing Ring: Periodically check the silicone sealing ring for cracks, deformation, or damage. Replace if necessary to maintain proper pressure sealing.
  5. Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Never immerse the main unit in water.
  6. Condensation Collector: Empty and clean the condensation collector located at the back of the unit after each use.
  7. Storage: Store the pressure cooker in a dry place. You may store the lid inverted on the inner pot to prevent odors.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pressure cooker, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions.
