6.2 Throttle Range Calibration

Before first use or after changing your transmitter, the throttle range must be calibrated. This ensures the ESC correctly interprets the throttle signals from your remote control.

  1. Turn on your transmitter and set the throttle trim to neutral.
  2. Connect the ESC to the motor, receiver, and a fully charged battery.
  3. Press and hold the ESC's power button, then turn on the ESC. Release the button when the red LED starts flashing.
  4. Push the throttle stick to the maximum forward position and press the power button once. The green LED will blink, confirming the forward throttle has been set.
  5. Pull the throttle stick to the maximum reverse position and press the power button once. The red LED will blink, confirming the reverse throttle has been set.
  6. Return the throttle stick to the neutral position and press the power button once. The ESC will emit a series of beeps, indicating successful calibration.

7. Operating Instructions

After successful calibration, the ESC is ready for operation. Ensure all connections are secure and the battery is fully charged. Always operate your RC vehicle in a safe and open environment.

  • Turn on the transmitter first, then the ESC.
  • The ESC will perform a self-test and emit a series of tones.
  • Once the ESC is ready, you can control your RC vehicle using the throttle and steering.
  • Always turn off the ESC first, then the transmitter, after operation.

8. Programming the ESC

The QuicRun WP 10BL60 G2 ESC offers various programmable parameters to fine-tune its performance. These parameters can be adjusted using a compatible HOBBYWING programming device or a dedicated mobile application.

8.1 Using the Mobile Application (Example)

This video demonstrates how to connect and adjust parameters using a mobile application compatible with HOBBYWING C-series ESCs. While the video may show a different model, the general procedure for connecting and modifying parameters via the app is similar.

Video: C Series APP Usage Demonstration. This video illustrates the process of connecting a HOBBYWING ESC to a mobile application via Bluetooth and adjusting various parameters. It covers initial connection, language settings, parameter modification, and rebooting the ESC for changes to take effect.

8.2 Common Programmable Items

  • Running Mode: Forward with Brake, Forward/Reverse with Brake, Forward with Reverse.
  • Cutoff Voltage: Sets the voltage at which the ESC reduces power to protect the battery.
  • Punch: Adjusts the initial acceleration response.
  • Drag Brake Force: Controls the braking force applied when the throttle is at neutral.
  • Max. Brake Force: Sets the maximum braking power.
  • Max. Reverse Force: Adjusts the maximum power available in reverse.
  • Neutral Range: Defines the width of the neutral throttle band.
  • Timing: Adjusts motor timing for performance or efficiency.
  • Lipo Cells: Automatically or manually sets the number of LiPo cells.
  • BEC Voltage: Selects the output voltage for the receiver and servos (6.0V or 7.4V).

9. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect all wires and connectors for damage or loose connections.
  • Keep the ESC clean and free from dirt, dust, and debris.
  • Ensure the cooling fan is unobstructed and functioning correctly.
  • Store the ESC in a dry, cool place when not in use.

10. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
ESC not powering onBattery not connected or discharged; faulty power switch.Check battery connection and charge level; inspect power switch.
Motor not responding to throttleIncorrect throttle calibration; loose signal wire; motor wires disconnected.Recalibrate throttle range; check receiver and motor connections.
ESC overheatingExcessive load; insufficient cooling; incorrect motor timing.Reduce load; ensure fan is clear; adjust motor timing.
Intermittent operationLoose connections; interference; low battery voltage.Check all connections; ensure proper radio setup; charge battery.
