Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:
- Intex C1500 Filter Pump Unit
- Filter Cartridge (Type A)
- Two 1¼ inch diameter hoses
- Hose clamps
- Power cord with GFCI
- Instruction Manual

Setup and Installation
- Positioning the Pump: Place the filter pump on a firm, level surface near the pool. Ensure it is at least 2 feet (0.6 meters) away from the pool wall and accessible for maintenance.
- Connecting Hoses: Attach the two 1¼ inch diameter hoses to the pump's inlet and outlet ports. Secure them with the provided hose clamps. Connect the other ends of the hoses to the corresponding inlet and outlet fittings on your above-ground pool. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Priming the Pump: Before plugging in the pump, ensure the pool is filled with water and the hoses are submerged. Open the air release valve on top of the filter housing to allow air to escape. Close the valve once a steady stream of water emerges. This primes the pump and prevents airlocks.
- Electrical Connection: Plug the 25-foot power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The built-in GFCI provides protection against electrical shock. Always test the GFCI before each use by pressing the "TEST" button, then the "RESET" button.

Operating Instructions
The Intex C1500 filter pump features a built-in timer for automatic daily filtration.
- Setting the Timer: Rotate the dial on the pump unit to select the desired operating duration in hours (e.g., 2, 4, 6, 8, 12). The pump will run for the set duration and then automatically shut off. It will restart at the same time the next day.
- Manual Operation: To run the pump continuously, set the dial to '0' or the 'ON' position if available (refer to specific unit markings).
- Monitoring Filtration: Regularly check the water clarity. The pump's Hydro Aeration Technology enhances circulation and filtration, contributing to improved water clarity and increased negative ions at the water surface.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance of your filter cartridge is crucial for optimal pump performance and water quality.
- Cartridge Cleaning: Disconnect the pump from the power source. Unscrew the top cover of the filter housing and remove the filter cartridge. Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose to remove debris.
- Cartridge Replacement: Replace the filter cartridge every two weeks, or more frequently depending on pool usage and water condition. Only use Intex Type A filter cartridges.
- Cartridge Gauge: The pump is equipped with a cartridge gauge. This indicator changes color to show the filter's condition:
- Green: Filter is clean and operating efficiently.
- Yellow: Filter is becoming dirty and may require rinsing.
- Red: Filter is dirty and requires cleaning or replacement for optimal performance.
