Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the ALLIMITY R14A Replacement Infrared Remote Control, designed for use with Carrier AC Air Conditioners. This remote is a direct replacement for original models R14A/CE and R14/CE. It operates using infrared technology and requires no programming; simply insert batteries to begin use.
Setup
Battery Installation
The remote control requires two AAA alkaline batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
- Insert two new AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagrams inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
Once batteries are installed, the remote control is ready for use. No additional programming is required.
- Pointing the Remote: Always aim the remote control directly towards the infrared sensor on your Carrier AC Air Conditioner unit. Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the AC unit's sensor.
- Power On/Off: Use the ON and OFF buttons to power the air conditioner on or off.
- Temperature Adjustment: Use the TEMP. up and down arrow buttons to adjust the desired temperature.
- Mode Selection: Press the MODE button to cycle through available operating modes (e.g., Cool, Heat, Fan, Dry, Auto).
- Fan Speed: Use the FAN SPEED button to adjust the fan's intensity.
- Air Direction/Swing: Use the AIR DIRECTION and SWING buttons to control the airflow direction.
- Timer Function: The TIMER button allows you to set a timed operation for the unit. Refer to your AC unit's manual for specific timer settings.
- Sleep Mode: Activate or deactivate sleep mode with the SLEEP button.
- LED/Light: The LED button may control the display light on some AC units.
- Turbo Function: The TURBO button provides a quick boost to cooling or heating.
- Cancel: The CANCEL button can be used to cancel certain settings or timer functions.
- Reset F/C: This button may switch the temperature display between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Troubleshooting
Remote Control Not Responding
- Check Batteries: Ensure new alkaline batteries are correctly installed with the correct polarity (+/-). Replace old batteries if necessary.
- Line of Sight: Verify that there are no obstructions between the remote control and the AC unit's infrared sensor. The remote must be aimed directly at the sensor.
- AC Unit Sensor: Confirm that the AC unit's sensor is clean and not blocked.
- Compatibility: Double-check that your AC unit model is listed as compatible with this remote (R14A/CE, R14/CE).
