Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Amseatec drafting chair. It is recommended to assemble the chair on a soft, clean surface to prevent damage.

1. Attach Casters to Base: Insert each of the five casters into the holes at the end of each leg of the star base. Push firmly until they click into place.
2. Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the star base.
3. Attach Foot Ring: Slide the foot ring over the gas lift cylinder and secure it at your desired height using the adjustment knob.
4. Attach Mechanism Plate to Seat: Align the mechanism plate with the screw holes on the underside of the seat cushion. Ensure the front of the mechanism plate faces the front of the seat. Secure with screws provided in the hardware pack.
5. Attach Armrests to Seat: Attach the armrests to the sides of the seat cushion using the provided screws. Ensure they are oriented correctly.
6. Attach Backrest to Seat/Armrests: Connect the backrest to the seat and armrests using the remaining screws.
7. Connect Seat Assembly to Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat onto the gas lift cylinder, ensuring the center hole of the mechanism plate aligns with the top of the gas lift. Press down firmly to secure.

Operating Instructions

• Height Adjustment: To raise the chair, lift the lever located under the right side of the seat while taking your weight off the seat. To lower the chair, lift the lever while seated. Release the lever at the desired height.
• Foot Ring Adjustment: The foot ring can be adjusted up or down to provide optimal foot support. Loosen the knob on the side of the foot ring, slide it to the desired height, and then tighten the knob securely.
• Flip-Up Armrests: The padded armrests can be flipped up and out of the way when not needed, allowing for closer access to your desk or for space-saving storage. Simply lift the armrests upwards until they lock into the vertical position. To lower, pull them down.
• Tilt Function: The chair features a tilt mechanism. Pull out the lever on the right side (the same lever for height adjustment) to enable tilting. Push it in to lock the backrest in an upright position.
• Tilt Tension Adjustment: Rotate the round knob under the front of the seat to adjust the tension of the tilt mechanism. Turn clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to recline) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline).
