- To switch units: Press and hold the Unit button (
, refer to Image 3.1) until the desired unit is displayed.

Image 5.1: Unit Switching. This diagram illustrates the sequence of unit changes when the Unit button is pressed and held: meters (m) to feet (ft), then to inches (in), and finally to feet + inches (ft+in).
5.3 Measurement Reference Point
The device can measure from its front edge or its back edge. The default reference point is typically the back edge.
- To change the reference point: Briefly press the Unit button (
, refer to Image 3.1). An icon on the display will indicate the current reference point (front or back).

Image 5.2: Measurement Reference Points. This image shows two representations of the laser measure, one indicating measurement from the front reference point and the other from the back reference point, with corresponding display readings.
5.4 Basic Distance Measurement
- Power on the device.
- Aim the laser beam at the target surface.
- Press the MEAS button (
, refer to Image 3.1) once to activate the laser. - Press the MEAS button again to take the measurement. The distance will be displayed on the screen.
