When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions carefully before operating the appliance.
- Do not immerse the motor unit in water or other liquids. Clean only with a damp cloth.
- Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before assembling, disassembling, or cleaning.
- Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades during operation to prevent injury.
- The blades are extremely sharp. Handle with extreme care, especially when removing or attaching them, and during cleaning. Always use the blade guards when storing.
- Ensure the bowl and lid are properly assembled and secured before operating the motor.
- Do not process extremely hard foods such as frozen fruits, ice, or un-shelled nuts, as this may damage the blades or motor.
- Do not operate the appliance continuously for more than 30 seconds to prevent motor overheating. Allow a short break between cycles.
- This appliance is equipped with built-in overheating protection, which will automatically shut off power in case of excessive heat. If this occurs, unplug the unit and allow it to cool down before resuming use.
- Always place the appliance on a stable, flat, and dry surface. The non-slip rubber ring helps keep the food chopper in place during operation.

4. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your food processor before use:
- Clean Components: Before first use, wash the glass bowl, stainless steel bowl, blades, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. The bowls, blades, and lid are dishwasher safe (except the motor unit).
- Place Non-slip Ring: Place one of the non-slip rubber rings onto the bottom of your chosen bowl (glass or stainless steel). Ensure it is securely fitted.
- Position Bowl: Place the assembled bowl on a stable, flat, and dry surface.
- Insert Blades: Carefully remove the blade protectors from the S-shaped blades. Hold the blade assembly by the plastic shaft and carefully place it onto the center pin inside the bowl. Ensure it sits firmly.
- Add Ingredients: Add your ingredients into the bowl. Do not overfill the bowl; ensure ingredients are below the maximum fill line.
- Place Lid: Place the translucent lid onto the bowl, aligning the opening in the lid with the top of the blade shaft.
- Attach Motor Unit: Place the motor unit on top of the lid, aligning the motor's drive shaft with the top of the blade shaft. The motor unit will sit loosely on top and does not "lock" into place, but it should be stable.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet. Your food processor is now ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions
The KOIOS food processor features two speed settings for various processing needs:

Figure 5.1: Two Speeds Pulse Control for different food types.
This image visually explains the two speed settings. Speed I (smooth cutting) is recommended for soft foods such as onions, avocados, and chilies. Speed II (turbo chopping) is recommended for harder foods like meat, carrots, and nuts. The motor unit has two distinct buttons for these speeds.
- Speed I (Smooth Cutting): Press and hold the 'I' button on the top of the motor unit for a slower, smoother cutting action. This speed is ideal for soft ingredients like onions, avocados, and chilies, or for achieving a coarser chop.
- Speed II (Turbo Chopping): Press and hold the 'II' button for a faster, more powerful chopping action. This speed is suitable for harder ingredients such as meat, carrots, and nuts, or for achieving a finer chop or puree.
General Operation Tips:
- Pulse Action: For best results and to prevent over-processing, use short pulses by pressing and releasing the desired speed button. This gives you greater control over the texture.
- Processing Time: Do not operate the appliance for more than 30 seconds continuously. If more processing is needed, allow the motor to rest for a few seconds before continuing.
- Ingredient Size: For optimal performance, cut larger ingredients into smaller, uniform pieces (e.g., less than an inch square for vegetables) before placing them in the bowl.
- Dual Bowls: The inclusion of both a glass and a stainless steel bowl allows you to process different food types without mixing flavors, or to prepare multiple ingredients sequentially.

Figure 5.2: Utilizing two bowls for different cooking needs.
This image highlights the benefit of having two separate bowls. One scenario shows preparing baby food (puree) in one bowl, while another shows chopping meat in the stainless steel bowl, emphasizing the ability to avoid flavor cross-contamination.
- Blade Sharpness: The stainless steel blades are very sharp, ensuring effortless cutting. Always handle them with care.

This image provides a detailed view of the food-grade 304 SUS blades, highlighting their sharp design which contributes to efficient and effortless cutting of various ingredients.
6. Care and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your KOIOS food processor.
Cleaning:
- Unplug: Always unplug the motor unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Disassemble: Carefully remove the motor unit, lid, blades, and bowl.
- Clean Motor Unit: Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Do NOT immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid.
- Wash Removable Parts: The bowls, blades, and lid are detachable and can be cleaned in a dishwasher. Alternatively, wash them by hand in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
- Blade Care: Exercise extreme caution when handling the blades due to their sharpness. Use a brush to clean them if necessary. Always place blade protectors back on the blades before storing.

This image demonstrates that the bowls, lid, and blades (excluding the motor unit) are safe for cleaning in a dishwasher, simplifying the cleanup process.
Storage:
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing.
- Store the food processor in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
- Always store blades with their protective covers on.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your KOIOS food processor, please refer to the following table for common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outage; motor unit not properly seated; overheating protection activated. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check your home's circuit breaker. Ensure the motor unit is correctly placed on the lid and bowl. If the unit feels hot, unplug and let it cool for 30 minutes before trying again. |
| Motor runs, but blades do not spin. | Blades not properly installed on the center pin; too much food in the bowl; food pieces are too large or hard. | Unplug the unit. Re-seat the blades firmly onto the center pin. Reduce the amount of food in the bowl. Cut ingredients into smaller, more manageable pieces. |
| Food is unevenly chopped. | Bowl is overfilled; ingredients are not uniform in size; not using pulse action. | Do not overfill the bowl. Cut ingredients into similar sizes before processing. Use short, controlled pulses to achieve desired consistency, shaking the bowl if necessary between pulses. |
| Unit vibrates excessively or moves during operation. | Non-slip ring not attached; unstable surface; uneven load of food. | Ensure the non-slip rubber ring is securely attached to the bottom of the bowl. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, and dry surface. Distribute food evenly in the bowl. |
| Burning smell from motor. | Overheating; motor overloaded. | Immediately unplug the unit. Allow it to cool down completely (at least 30 minutes). Reduce the amount of food or cut harder ingredients into smaller pieces. Avoid continuous operation for more than 30 seconds. |
