The SURDY Automatic Cat Feeder is designed to provide convenient and consistent feeding for up to two cats. With a 5-liter (20-cup) capacity, it ensures a reliable food supply for extended periods. The feeder features programmable meal times and portion sizes, a dual power supply for uninterrupted operation, and a voice recorder to call your pets to eat.

Product Components

Familiarize yourself with the different parts of your automatic cat feeder.

Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Assemble Bowls: Place the stainless steel bowls into their respective bowl trays. Attach the bowl trays to the main feeder unit.
  3. Install Desiccant Bag: Open the lid of the food reservoir. Insert the desiccant bag into its designated holder on the underside of the lid. This helps keep food fresh.
  4. Fill Food Reservoir: Pour dry pet food into the reservoir. Ensure the food size is less than or equal to 0.5 inches to prevent jamming.
  5. Secure Lid: Close the lid firmly, ensuring it is properly sealed to maintain food freshness and prevent pests.
  6. Power On:
    • Connect the Type-C power cable to the feeder and the 5V/1A power adapter to a wall outlet.
    • For backup power, install 3 D-cell batteries (not included) into the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit. This ensures operation during power outages.
  7. Set Current Time:
    • Press the right arrow button on the control panel to access the menu.
    • Navigate to "Set time" using the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons. Press the right arrow to select.
    • Adjust the hour and minute using the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons. Note: The feeder uses 24-hour military time (e.g., 21:00 for 9 PM).
    • Press the right arrow button to confirm each setting. Press the return button (curved arrow) to exit the time setting.

Operating Instructions

Programming Feeding Schedule

The feeder allows you to schedule up to 6 meals per day with customizable portion sizes.

  1. Access Timing Plan: From the main screen, press the right arrow button to enter the menu. Use the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons to navigate to "Timing plan". Press the right arrow to select.
  2. Set Meal Times and Portions:
    • The display will show "First Meal" and the current time/feed setting.
    • Press the right arrow button to edit the meal time. Use the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons to adjust the hour and minute (24-hour format). Press the right arrow to confirm each.
    • After setting the time, the "Feed" (portions) setting will become editable. Use the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons to adjust the number of portions (1 portion ≈ 10 grams ≈ 1/12 cup).
    • Press the right arrow button to confirm the portions and move to the next meal setting (Second Meal, Third Meal, etc.).
    • Repeat for up to 6 meals. If you do not wish to set all 6 meals, set the "Feed" portion to 0 for the unused meals.
  3. Save Settings: Once all desired meal times and portions are set, press the return button (curved arrow) repeatedly until you return to the main time display. Your settings will be saved automatically.

Manual Feeding

To dispense food manually, press and hold the plus (+) button on the control panel. Food will dispense until the button is released. This is useful for extra treats or immediate feeding.

Voice Recording

You can record a 10-second voice message that will play during each scheduled feeding.

  1. Access Other Settings: From the main screen, press the right arrow button to enter the menu. Use the plus (+) or minus (-) buttons to navigate to "Other Settings". Press the right arrow to select.
  2. Record Message: Navigate to "Recorded AT" (Record Audio). Press the right arrow. The feeder will prompt you to record. Speak clearly into the microphone located near the control panel.
  3. Play Message: After recording, you can play back the message to ensure it's clear.
  4. Save: The recording is automatically saved. Press the return button (curved arrow) to exit.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and hygiene for your pets.

  1. Disassemble: Unplug the feeder and remove any remaining food. Detach the food reservoir, lid, bowl trays, and stainless steel bowls.
  2. Clean Bowls & Trays: The stainless steel bowls and bowl trays are dishwasher safe or can be hand-washed with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Clean Food Reservoir & Lid: Hand wash the food reservoir and lid with mild soap and water. Ensure all food residue is removed. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembly.
  4. Clean Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  5. Replace Desiccant Bag: Replace the desiccant bag every 1-2 months, or as needed, to maintain food freshness.
  6. Reassemble: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling the feeder.

Troubleshooting
