  1. Connect a power adapter to the PD IN port of the VANGREE device. This is especially important when using with power-intensive devices like the Nintendo Switch.
  2. Connect the 1.64ft USB-C to USB-C cable from your host device (e.g., laptop, iPad Pro) to the USB-C IN port on the VANGREE device.
  3. Connect the 3.3ft USB-C to USB-A/C cable from your source device (e.g., Nintendo Switch, iPhone 15) to the Capture port on the VANGREE device.
  4. Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port of the VANGREE device to your display (monitor, TV, projector) for pass-through video.
  5. For audio monitoring, connect headphones to the Audio Out port.
  6. On your computer, open your preferred capture software (e.g., OBS Studio, XSplit, Potplayer, QuickTime Player) and select the VANGREE capture device as your video input source.

Note: In Capture Card mode, the USB-A 3.0 and USB-C 3.0 data ports do not function. The C to C/A cable only works when plugged into the "Capture" port.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No video output/capture in Capture Card Mode:
Ensure the 3.3ft USB-C to USB-A/C cable is connected to the Capture port on the VANGREE device and to your source device. Verify that your capture software is correctly configured to recognize the device. Ensure all cables are securely connected.
  • USB-A/USB-C data ports not working in Capture Card Mode:
This is expected behavior. The USB-A 3.0 and USB-C 3.0 interfaces are disabled when the device is operating in Capture Card Mode.
  • "Capture" port not working in USB-C Hub Mode:
This is expected behavior. The "Capture" interface is disabled when the device is operating as a USB-C Hub.
  • No display output from HDMI in USB-C Hub Mode:
Verify that your host device's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode) for video output. Not all USB-C ports have this capability. Ensure the 1.64ft USB-C to USB-C cable is connected to the USB-C IN port.
  • Device not charging or unstable operation:
Ensure a 100W power supply is connected to the PD IN port, especially when using power-intensive devices or multiple peripherals.
  • Nintendo Switch connection issues:
When connecting the Nintendo Switch, follow the specific connection order: 1. Connect power supply to PD IN. 2. Connect host device to USB-C IN. 3. Connect Nintendo Switch to Capture interface.
