Thank you for purchasing the 8Bitdo N30 2.4G Wireless Gamepad. This controller is designed to provide a lag-free wireless gaming experience for your original NES system. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new gamepad.

The controller features a classic NES-style D-pad, A and B action buttons, dedicated Turbo A (TA) and Turbo B (TB) buttons, and Select, Start, and Home buttons. The Home button is specifically designed to access the Analogue NT mini home menu wirelessly.

Setup

1. Connecting the Receiver

  1. Ensure your original NES console is powered off.
  2. Insert the 2.4G Wireless Receiver into one of the controller ports on your NES console. Ensure it is fully seated.

2. Powering On and Pairing the Controller

  1. Turn on your NES console.
  2. Press the Start button on the 8Bitdo N30 controller. The controller will automatically connect to the receiver. A solid blue light on both the controller and receiver indicates a successful connection.

Operating Instructions

Basic Controls

  • D-pad: For directional movement.
  • A Button: Primary action button.
  • B Button: Secondary action button.
  • Select Button: Typically used for game options or pausing.
  • Start Button: Used to begin games or pause gameplay.

Turbo Function

The N30 controller includes dedicated Turbo A (TA) and Turbo B (TB) buttons. Pressing and holding these buttons will rapidly repeat the corresponding A or B input, useful for certain game mechanics.

Home Button

The 'home' button provides direct access to the Analogue NT mini home menu wirelessly, offering convenient navigation for users of compatible systems.

Charging the Controller

The 8Bitdo N30 controller features a built-in 180mAh rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, providing approximately 18-20 hours of play time on a full charge.

Charging Procedure

  1. Connect the included USB cable to the USB-C port on the top edge of the controller (refer to Figure 2).
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a standard USB power source (e.g., a computer USB port, a USB wall adapter, or a power bank).
  3. The controller's indicator light will show charging status (typically red while charging, turning off or changing color when fully charged).
  4. A full charge typically takes 1-2 hours.

Maintenance

  • Keep the controller and receiver clean by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not disassemble the controller or receiver, as this will void the warranty and may cause damage.
  • Store the controller and receiver in a safe place when not in use to prevent physical damage.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the controller is fully charged.
Controller not charging.
  • Verify the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the power source.
  • Try a different USB cable or power source.
  • Ensure the power source is providing sufficient power (standard USB 5V).
Controller does not connect via Bluetooth.This 8Bitdo N30 model uses 2.4G wireless technology specifically for the original NES system. Bluetooth connection is not applicable for this product's intended use with the NES.
