Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Ring Battery Doorbell and Ring Indoor Cam 2nd Gen. This bundle offers enhanced home security and monitoring capabilities, allowing you to see, hear, and speak to visitors at your door and monitor indoor spaces.
The Ring Battery Doorbell provides 66% more vertical coverage than previous models, featuring Head-to-Toe Video. Both devices offer real-time alerts, Live View, and Two-Way Talk for effective communication and monitoring.

Setup and Installation
The estimated installation time for the Ring Battery Doorbell is approximately 5 minutes, and for the Indoor Cam, it is 5 to 10 minutes. A minimum upload speed of 2 Mbps is required for optimal performance for both devices.
Ring Battery Doorbell Installation
The Battery Doorbell runs on a built-in, rechargeable battery. It can also be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz) for continuous charging. Do not use halogen or garden-lighting transformers, or DC transformer/power supply.
- Charge the Battery Doorbell fully using the provided USB-C Charging Cable.
- Mount the bracket to your desired location using the installation tools and hardware.
- Click the Battery Doorbell into place on the mounted bracket.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect the doorbell to your home Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n @ 2.4GHz).

Ring Indoor Cam 2nd Gen Installation
The Indoor Cam requires a standard power outlet for operation.
- Place the Indoor Cam in your desired indoor location.
- Connect the Indoor Cam to a power outlet using the provided 10W USB-A Power Adapter and USB-A to Micro USB Charge Cable.
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect the camera to your home Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n @ 2.4GHz).
Operating Instructions
Both the Ring Battery Doorbell and Indoor Cam are managed through the Ring App on your smartphone or tablet.
Live View and Two-Way Talk
Access real-time video and audio from your devices at any time through the Live View feature in the Ring App. Use Two-Way Talk to communicate with visitors at your door or with individuals in the vicinity of your Indoor Cam.

Motion Detection and Alerts
Receive real-time alerts on your phone when motion is detected by either device. The Ring Battery Doorbell features Advanced Motion Detection with Customizable Motion Zones, allowing you to define specific areas for motion monitoring. The Indoor Cam offers Customizable Motion Detection.
For the Battery Doorbell, Package Alerts are available as an exclusive Ring Home subscription feature (sold separately). This feature notifies you when a package is detected within a specified zone. Note that Package Alerts work best with medium-to-large shipping boxes; envelopes, tubes, small boxes, and food deliveries may not be detected. Ensure Motion Detection is enabled in the Ring App.

Alexa Integration
Connect your Ring devices with Alexa-enabled devices for hands-free control and monitoring. You can hear custom notifications from Echo Dot devices and launch video feeds on Echo Show devices by voice command.

Maintenance
Battery Charging (Ring Battery Doorbell)
The Ring Battery Doorbell's built-in battery will require periodic recharging. The Ring App will notify you when the battery level is low. To recharge, remove the doorbell from its mounting bracket and connect it to the USB-C Charging Cable. Recharging time will vary based on the power source.
Cleaning
To ensure optimal performance, periodically clean the camera lens and surrounding areas of both devices with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the device finish or lens.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your Ring devices, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and the devices are within range of your router. Check your internet speed to ensure it meets the minimum 2 Mbps upload requirement.
- Battery Life: If the Battery Doorbell's battery drains quickly, ensure it is fully charged. If hardwired, verify the transformer meets the specified voltage requirements.
- Motion Detection: Verify that motion detection is enabled in the Ring App and that motion zones are correctly configured.
- Video Quality: Ensure your internet connection is stable. Clean the camera lens if the image appears blurry.

Disclaimer: Package Alerts (available for select Ring video doorbells) work best with medium-to-large shipping boxes. Envelopes, tubes, small boxes, and food deliveries may not be detected. Make sure you have Motion Detection enabled in the Ring App. Ring Alarm and all Ring Alarm accessories require a compatible Ring subscription (sold separately) for digital arming/disarming and certain other in-app features. Your Ring videos in the cloud are stored temporarily, up to 180 days of Video Event History. Changing your video storage time will only affect videos that are recorded after you adjust your storage time setting. For customers in Illinois & Texas: Ring Smart Video Search is not available on Ring devices due to specific state legislation.
Warranty and Support
Both the Ring Battery Doorbell and Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen) come with a one-year limited warranty.
These devices receive guaranteed software security updates until at least four years after the device is last available for purchase as a new unit on our websites.
