2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1 Unboxing

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the main outlet unit and the 5-foot temperature sensor.

4.2 Physical Connection

  1. Plug the 3.5mm jack of the temperature sensor into the dedicated port on the top of the Briidea Smart WiFi Temperature Control Outlet unit.
  2. Plug the Briidea outlet unit into a standard 110V AC wall socket.
  3. Plug your heating or cooling appliance into the power outlet on the front of the Briidea unit.
  4. Position the temperature sensor in the area where you wish to monitor and control the temperature. Ensure it is not in direct sunlight, drafts, or obstructed by the appliance itself.

4.3 App Installation and Pairing (Smart Life App)

  1. Download the 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android).
  2. Open the Smart Life app and register for a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The device does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  4. In the app, tap the '+' icon in the top right corner to add a device.
  5. Select 'Electrical' > 'Socket (Wi-Fi)' or search for 'Thermostat'.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to put the device into pairing mode. This usually involves pressing and holding the Wi-Fi button on the device until the Wi-Fi indicator light blinks rapidly.
  7. Confirm the indicator is blinking rapidly in the app, then enter your Wi-Fi network password.
  8. The app will begin connecting to the device. Once connected, you can rename the device for easier identification.

4.4 Voice Assistant Integration (Alexa/Google Assistant)

  1. Open your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
  2. Navigate to the 'Skills & Games' (Alexa) or 'Works with Google' (Google Home) section.
  3. Search for and enable the 'Smart Life' skill/service.
  4. Link your Smart Life account by entering your Smart Life credentials when prompted.
  5. Discover devices. Your Briidea Smart WiFi Temperature Control Outlet should now appear in your voice assistant app and be controllable by voice.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation (Device Buttons)

The device features several buttons and an LCD display for direct control and monitoring:

  • Power Button (⏻): Press to turn the device ON/OFF.
  • Wi-Fi Button (📶): Press to toggle Wi-Fi connection. Long press to enter pairing mode.
  • Mode Button (⚙️): Press to switch between Heating Mode and Cooling Mode.
  • Up Button (▲): Press to increase the target temperature.
  • Down Button (▼): Press to decrease the target temperature.

The LCD display shows the current temperature, set temperature, operating mode (Heating/Cooling), and Wi-Fi connection status.
