3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for proper installation of your landscape lighting kit. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.

Video 3.1: ZUCKEO Low Voltage Landscape Lighting Kit Installation Guide. This video demonstrates the step-by-step process of setting up the lighting system, including assembling the spotlights, connecting the wires, and mounting the transformer.

3.1. Spotlight Assembly

  1. Attach Ground Stakes: Each spotlight comes with a ground stake. Remove the screw from the ground stake, align the stake with the U-bracket of the LED light, and secure it with the screw using the provided Allen wrench.
  2. Position Lights: Place the assembled spotlights in your desired locations in the garden, yard, or along pathways.

3.2. Wiring Connections

  1. Prepare the Wire: The 80FT low-voltage wire is designed for easy customization. Separate the two strands of the wire at the points where you intend to connect a spotlight.
  2. Connect Spotlights: Use the fastlock wire connectors to connect each spotlight to the main low-voltage wire. Insert one strand of the main wire into the large cap of the connector and the other strand into the small cap. Twist the small cap into the joint to secure the connection. Ensure a firm connection by gently pulling on the wire.

3.3. Transformer Connection and Mounting

  1. Connect to Transformer: Connect the ends of the main low-voltage wire to the V+ and V- terminals on the transformer. Ensure one cable is connected to V+ and the other to V-, otherwise the system will not function. Tighten the screws to secure the wires.
  2. Mount the Transformer: Choose a suitable location to mount the transformer, such as a wall or fence. Use the provided mounting kit to securely attach the transformer. Ensure the light sensor cable is positioned to detect ambient light accurately.
  3. Light Sensor: The transformer features a light sensor. Remove the light sensor cap when using the auto (dusk to dawn) or timer modes. If the cap remains on, the lights will stay on continuously.

4.1. Operating Modes

  • Manual ON/OFF Mode: The lights remain on or off until you manually change the setting. This mode bypasses the photocell sensor and timer.
  • Dusk to Dawn (AUTO) Mode: The built-in photocell sensor automatically turns the lights on at dusk and off at dawn. Ensure the light sensor cap is removed for this mode to function correctly.
  • Countdown Timer Mode: The lights turn on at dusk and automatically turn off after a set duration (2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 hours). Select your desired duration using the S/W button. Ensure the light sensor cap is removed.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ZUCKEO Landscape Lighting Kit.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the spotlights and the transformer housing with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspect Wiring: Annually inspect all wiring and connections for any signs of damage, fraying, or corrosion. Ensure all connectors are securely fastened.
  • Clear Obstructions: Ensure the light sensor on the transformer is free from obstructions (e.g., leaves, dirt) that could interfere with its ability to detect ambient light.
  • Bulb Replacement: The LED bulbs are integrated and designed for long life (up to 50,000 hours). If a light fails prematurely, contact customer support for assistance.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your lighting kit, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Lights Not Turning On:
    • Check if the transformer is plugged into a working power outlet.
    • Verify all wire connections are secure and correctly wired (V+ to one wire, V- to the other).
    • Ensure the light sensor cap is removed if using Auto or Timer modes.
    • Check the selected operating mode on the transformer.
  • Lights Flickering or Dim:
    • Inspect for loose wire connections or damaged wiring.
    • Ensure the total wattage of connected lights does not exceed 80% of the transformer's capacity (60W transformer, max 48W load).
  • Lights Stay On During Daytime:
    • Check if the light sensor is obstructed or if the light sensor cap is still on.
    • Ensure the transformer is not in Manual ON mode.
