Operating the Controller

Core Controls

The controller features standard gaming inputs including ABXY face buttons, a D-Pad, left and right analog thumbsticks, LB/RB bumpers, LT/RT triggers, Select, Start, and Turbo buttons. The ABXY, D-PAD, and LB/RB buttons utilize tactile mechanical switches for quick response.

Advanced Gaming Buttons

Six mappable Advanced Gaming Buttons (AGR1-AGR4, AGL1-AGL2) are located on the back of the controller. These can be programmed on-the-fly to replicate any standard button input, allowing for customized control layouts to improve efficiency in games.

Quick-Twist Adjustable Thumbsticks

The thumbsticks feature a quick-twist mechanism, allowing you to easily adjust their height for personalized comfort and control. This feature helps optimize precision for different game genres.

Hall Effect Thumbsticks and Triggers

Integrated Hall Effect sensors in the thumbsticks and triggers provide enhanced precision and reliability by using magnetic fields instead of physical contacts, reducing wear and tear and preventing stick drift.

Turbo Button

Activate the Turbo feature for ABXY, LB/RB, Select, or Start buttons to enable rapid, automatic button presses, useful for certain in-game actions.

3-Way Trigger Locks

Adjust the trigger depth with the 3-way trigger locks to suit different game types. A shorter pull is ideal for quick-fire actions in shooters, while a full pull is better for precise acceleration in racing games.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your controller, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the controller's openings. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Battery Care

The integrated 1200mAh rechargeable battery is designed for long life. For optimal battery health, avoid completely draining the battery frequently. Store the controller in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

  • Controller not connecting: Ensure the controller is charged. For wireless connections, verify the dongle is properly inserted or Bluetooth is enabled and the controller is in pairing mode. Try restarting your PC or device.
  • Intermittent disconnections: Ensure the controller is within range of the dongle or Bluetooth device. Minimize interference from other wireless devices.

Performance Issues (e.g., Stick Drift)

While Hall Effect sensors reduce the likelihood of stick drift, if you experience any input inaccuracies, ensure your controller's firmware is up to date. The PowerA PC HQ App is crucial for managing settings and applying firmware updates that can resolve such issues.

PC HQ App Support

The PowerA PC HQ App allows for comprehensive customization of your controller, including button mapping, RGB lighting effects, and firmware updates. It is essential for optimal performance and resolving potential software-related issues. Download the official app from the PowerA website or Microsoft Store.
