3. Setup and Installation

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the minibar for any damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
  2. Placement: Choose a location with a stable, level surface. Allow at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space around the back and sides for proper ventilation. Avoid placing near direct sunlight or heat sources.
  3. Leveling: Adjust the leveling feet at the bottom of the minibar to ensure it is stable and level. This helps reduce vibration and noise.
  4. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the interior and exterior of the minibar with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
  5. Power Connection: After placement and cleaning, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging the minibar into a grounded electrical outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Powering On

Once the minibar has settled for the recommended time, plug it into a suitable electrical outlet. The internal light (if present) should illuminate, and the compressor will begin to operate.

4.2. Temperature Control

The Vestel MB4001 features an adjustable thermostat. The thermostat dial is typically located inside the minibar, often near the top or on the back wall.

  • Turn the dial to adjust the cooling intensity. Higher numbers usually indicate colder temperatures.
  • Start with a medium setting and adjust as needed based on the ambient temperature and the amount of food stored.
  • Allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize after making an adjustment.

4.3. Loading the Minibar

Do not overload the minibar. Ensure there is enough space for air to circulate around items for efficient cooling. Avoid placing hot food directly into the minibar.

4.4. Defrosting

This minibar features manual defrost. Frost will accumulate on the evaporator surface. When the frost layer becomes approximately 5mm (0.2 inches) thick, the minibar should be defrosted.

  1. Unplug the minibar from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and place them in a cooler or another refrigerator.
  3. Leave the door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. Place a towel or shallow tray at the bottom to collect melted water.
  4. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the appliance.
  5. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging it back in and returning food items.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry with a soft cloth.
  • Interior Cleaning: Clean the interior regularly with a solution of baking soda and water (1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 liter of water). Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
  • Door Seal: Inspect the door seal regularly for cracks or damage. Clean it with a damp cloth to ensure a tight seal.
  • Power Cord: Periodically check the power cord for any signs of damage.
  • When Not in Use: If the minibar will not be used for an extended period, unplug it, clean it thoroughly, and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odors and mold growth.
