Operating Instructions

Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the amplifier is powered on. It will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
  2. On your audio device (smartphone, tablet, computer), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "Herdio AMP" or a similar name from the list of devices. No password is required for connection.
  4. Once connected, the amplifier will indicate a successful pairing (e.g., a steady blue light or an audible confirmation). You can now stream audio wirelessly.

TWS (True Wireless Stereo) Function

The TWS function allows you to pair two Herdio amplifiers to create a true stereo sound system with separate left and right channels. This is ideal for larger spaces or for achieving a more immersive audio experience.

  1. Ensure both Herdio amplifiers are powered on and not currently connected to any Bluetooth device.
  2. On both amplifiers, locate and press the TWS button or switch. The indicators on both units should start flashing, indicating they are searching for each other.
  3. Once paired, one amplifier will act as the master (left channel) and the other as the slave (right channel). The indicators will change to a steady state.
  4. Now, connect your audio device via Bluetooth to the master amplifier. The audio will be distributed across both amplifiers for a stereo effect.

AUX Input Usage

For wired connections, use the AUX IN port:

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable to the AUX IN port on the amplifier.
  2. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the headphone jack or audio output port of your device (e.g., TV, computer, MP3 player).
  3. The amplifier will automatically switch to AUX input when a cable is detected, or you may need to manually select the input if there's an input selection button (refer to specific model features if available).

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Herdio amplifier, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the amplifier. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive chemicals, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the amplifier is placed in a well-ventilated area. Do not block any ventilation openings, as proper airflow is crucial to prevent overheating.
  • Environment: Keep the amplifier away from direct sunlight, heat sources, excessive dust, moisture, and corrosive materials.
  • Power Off: When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Herdio amplifier, please refer to the following common problems and their solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound or low volume.Incorrect speaker connection; volume too low on source device or amplifier; incorrect input selected; amplifier not powered on.
  • Check speaker wire connections for correct polarity and secure fit.
  • Increase volume on both the source device and the amplifier.
  • Ensure the correct input (Bluetooth, AUX) is selected.
  • Verify the power supply is securely connected and the amplifier is powered on.
Bluetooth connection issues (e.g., cannot pair, frequent disconnections).Device too far from amplifier; interference; amplifier already paired with another device; Bluetooth on source device is off.
  • Move the source device closer to the amplifier (within 50 feet).
  • Turn off other Bluetooth devices nearby to reduce interference.
  • Disconnect the amplifier from any previously paired devices on your source device's Bluetooth settings.
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your source device.
  • Power cycle the amplifier and your source device.
Distorted sound or crackling.Volume too high; faulty speaker wire; damaged speaker; poor audio source quality.
  • Reduce the volume.
  • Check speaker wires for damage or loose connections.
  • Test with a different audio source or speakers if possible.
TWS pairing fails.Amplifiers too far apart; one amplifier already paired via Bluetooth; TWS function not activated correctly.
  • Ensure both amplifiers are within close proximity for TWS pairing.
  • Make sure neither amplifier is connected to a Bluetooth device before initiating TWS pairing.
  • Follow the TWS pairing steps precisely as described in the Operating Instructions.
