Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning:
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Before first use, clean the water tank, drip tray, and portafilter with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
2. Filling the Water Tank:
Remove the water tank from the side of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold tap water up to the MAX indication. Reinsert the water tank securely into its position.

3. Filling the Bean Hopper:
Open the lid of the bean hopper located on top of the machine. Pour fresh coffee beans into the hopper. Ensure the lid is closed properly after filling to maintain bean freshness.

4. First Use / Priming:
After filling the water tank, place a cup under the coffee spout. Turn on the machine. The machine may perform an initial rinse cycle. Allow this cycle to complete. This primes the system and ensures optimal performance.
Operating Instructions
1. Preparing Your Coffee:
Place your cup on the drip tray. The machine will automatically grind the beans and brew your coffee. For different coffee types, use the control buttons on top of the machine.

2. Selecting Coffee Type and Intensity:
Use the dedicated buttons on the top panel to select your desired coffee: Espresso for a concentrated shot, Café Crema for a longer coffee with a rich crema, or Extra Intensity for a stronger brew. The machine will adjust grinding and brewing parameters accordingly.
3. Brewing Process:
Once your selection is made, the machine will automatically grind the fresh beans, tamp them, and extract the coffee. The unique slide mechanism simplifies the brewing process.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Philips Baristina coffee machine.
1. Daily Cleaning:
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
- Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
- Portafilter: After each use, remove and rinse the portafilter to remove any coffee grounds.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth.
2. Descaling:
The machine will indicate when descaling is required. Use a Philips-approved descaling solution and follow the instructions provided with the descaler. Regular descaling prevents limescale buildup and maintains brewing quality.
3. Cleaning the Brew Group:
Refer to the detailed instructions in the full manual for cleaning the internal brew group. This typically involves removing the brew group and rinsing it under running water.
Note: The product is not dishwasher safe. Clean components manually as instructed.
Troubleshooting
