1. Introduction and Overview

The Jura J8 Twin Automatic Coffee Machine is designed to provide a versatile and high-quality coffee experience. 2. Setup

2.1 Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Place the coffee machine on a stable, level surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

2.2 Water Tank and Filter Installation

Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water. If using a water filter (included), install it according to the instructions provided with the filter. Ensure the water tank is securely seated in its position.

2.3 Filling Bean Hoppers

The J8 Twin features two separate bean containers. Open the lids and fill each hopper with your desired whole coffee beans. This allows for the use of different roasts or caffeine levels (e.g., regular and decaf). Close the lids securely to maintain bean freshness.

2.4 Power Connection

Connect the power cable to the machine and then to a grounded electrical outlet. The machine will typically initiate an automatic rinsing process upon first power-on or after a period of inactivity.

3.1 Panorama Coffee Panel (Touchscreen)

The J8 Twin is operated via a large 6.7-inch touchscreen display. Navigate through the menu by swiping and tapping the icons. The panel provides intuitive access to all beverage options and settings.

3.2 Beverage Selection

Select your desired beverage from the displayed options. The machine offers a wide variety of coffee specialties, including:

3.3 Customization Options

Before brewing, you can customize various parameters for your drink:

• Grind Consistency: Adjust the grind fineness using the dials located near the bean hoppers.
• Coffee Strength: Modify the amount of coffee used per serving.
• Volume: Adjust the water volume for your beverage.
• Milk/Milk Foam Amount: Control the quantity of milk or milk foam for milk-based drinks.
• Bean Selection: Choose which of the two bean hoppers to use for your drink, allowing for full-caf, half-caf, or decaf options.

3.4 Sweet Foam Function

For Sweet Latte and other sweetened milk foam beverages, attach the Sweet Foam syrup attachment to the milk dispenser. Fill the attachment with your preferred syrup. The machine will automatically integrate the syrup into the milk foam during preparation.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Jura J8 Twin. The machine will prompt you for necessary cleaning and descaling cycles.

4.1 Daily Cleaning

• Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and rinse daily.
• Milk System: Perform the automatic milk system cleaning cycle after preparing milk-based beverages. The Sweet Foam attachment is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

4.2 Descaling and Cleaning Cycles

Follow the on-screen prompts for descaling and general cleaning cycles. Use only Jura-approved cleaning products to prevent damage to the machine.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your J8 Twin, refer to the following common solutions:

• Machine Not Turning On: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the machine and a working electrical outlet.
• "Fill Water Tank" Message: Check if the water tank is properly filled and seated.
• "Empty Drip Tray" Message: Even if the drip tray appears empty, remove it completely, empty any residual liquid, and reinsert it firmly. Sometimes, the sensor may require a full reset.
• Poor Milk Froth: Ensure the milk system is clean. Check that the milk container and tubes are correctly connected and free from blockages. Use fresh, cold milk.
