4.1 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The OSD menu allows you to adjust various monitor settings. Access the OSD menu using the joystick or buttons located on the monitor, typically on the rear or bottom edge.

  • Navigation: Use the joystick to move through menu options and press it to select.
  • Input Selection: Navigate to the 'Input' section to switch between DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB Type-C sources.
  • Picture Settings: Adjust brightness, contrast, color temperature, gamma, and various picture modes (e.g., Standard, Graphics, Movie, Game).
  • Gaming Settings: Configure refresh rate, response time overdrive, and AMD FreeSync Premium settings.

4.2 AMD FreeSync Premium

To enable AMD FreeSync Premium, ensure your graphics card supports the technology and that it is enabled in your graphics card's control panel. Then, activate FreeSync Premium within the monitor's OSD menu under the 'Gaming' section. This synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate with your GPU's frame rate, reducing screen tearing and stuttering.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your monitor.

7.1 No Display / Black Screen

  • Check Power: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the monitor and the power outlet. Verify the power outlet is functional.
  • Check Video Cable: Confirm the video cable (DisplayPort, HDMI, or USB-C) is firmly connected to both the monitor and your computer's graphics card. Try reseating the cable or using a different cable.
  • Input Source: Use the OSD menu to manually select the correct input source.
  • Computer Status: Ensure your computer is powered on and not in sleep mode.

7.2 Flickering or Unstable Image

  • Cable Connection: Re-check the video cable connection. A loose cable can cause flickering.
  • Refresh Rate: Ensure your graphics card output refresh rate matches the monitor's supported refresh rate. Adjust this in your operating system's display settings.
  • AMD FreeSync Premium: If FreeSync is enabled and flickering occurs, try disabling it temporarily to see if it resolves the issue. Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.
  • Interference: Move any electronic devices that might cause electromagnetic interference away from the monitor.

7.3 Stuck or Dead Pixels

While rare, a display panel may exhibit a small number of pixels that are permanently lit (stuck) or unlit (dead). This is a characteristic of LCD/OLED technology and is generally not considered a defect unless the number of such pixels exceeds manufacturer specifications. If you experience this, you may try pixel refresh tools or contact support if the issue is severe.

7.4 Annoying OSD Prompts

Some users may experience frequent or persistent OSD prompts (e.g., warnings, feature notifications). Check the monitor's OSD menu for options to adjust the duration of these prompts or to disable specific notifications. Firmware updates, if available from Acer, may also address such issues.

8. Maintenance

8.1 Cleaning the Monitor

  • Always power off the monitor and unplug the power cord before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive screen cleaner.
  • Do not spray cleaning solution directly onto the screen. Apply it to the cloth first.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, alcohol, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the screen surface.

8.2 General Care

  • Avoid placing heavy objects on the monitor or its cables.
  • Do not expose the monitor to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the monitor to prevent overheating.

9. Safety Information

  • Read all instructions carefully before using the monitor.
  • Do not open the monitor casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • Keep the monitor away from water and moisture.
  • Use only the power adapter and cables provided by the manufacturer.
  • Position the monitor on a stable, level surface to prevent it from falling.
  • Unplug the monitor from the power outlet during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
