4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation ensures optimal performance of your solar lights. The flexible design allows for combined or separated mounting of the light unit and solar panel.
4.1 Choosing a Location
- Solar Panel: Mount the solar panel in a location that receives 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Avoid shaded areas from trees, buildings, or eaves.
- Light Unit: Install the light unit in the desired area for illumination, ensuring the motion sensor has a clear line of sight to the detection zone. The 16.4ft cable allows for flexible placement, even if the light unit is in a shaded area.

4.2 Installation Steps
- Prepare: Unpack all components and ensure they are intact.
- Mounting Brackets: Attach the appropriate mounting brackets to the back of the solar panel and the light unit.
- Secure Light Unit: Using the provided screws and anchors, securely mount the light unit to your chosen surface (e.g., wall, soffit).
- Secure Solar Panel: Mount the solar panel in its chosen location, ensuring it is angled to maximize sun exposure.
- Connect Cable: Connect the extension cable from the solar panel to the light unit. Ensure the connection is secure.
- Activate: Before first use, locate the small ON/OFF button or pinhole on the light unit (refer to Figure 2) and press it to activate the light. Alternatively, remove the insulation sheet from the remote control to enable remote operation.

5. Operating Instructions
Your TECKNET Solar Motion Sensor Lights come with a remote control to easily switch between three smart lighting modes:
- ON/OFF Button: Press to manually turn the light on or off.
- Mode 1: Constant On (50% Brightness)
The light automatically turns on at 50% brightness at dusk and stays on until dawn. The motion sensor is disabled in this mode. - Mode 2: Dimmed Stay + Bright on Motion
The light stays on at a dimmed brightness (e.g., 30%) at night. When motion is detected, it brightens to 100% for 15-25 seconds, then returns to dimmed mode after motion stops. - Mode 3: Off + Bright on Motion
The light remains off at night. When motion is detected, it turns on at 100% brightness for 15-25 seconds, then turns off completely after motion stops.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TECKNET Solar Motion Sensor Lights, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, leaves, or snow. A clean panel ensures maximum sunlight absorption and efficient charging.
- Inspect Connections: Periodically check the connection between the solar panel and the light unit to ensure it remains secure and free from corrosion.
- Clear Obstructions: Ensure no new obstructions (e.g., growing branches, new structures) are shading the solar panel or blocking the motion sensor's field of view.
- Battery Care: The integrated lithium battery is designed for long-term use. Avoid disassembling the unit or attempting to replace the battery yourself, as this may void the warranty and damage the product.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your solar lights, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on at night. | 1. Insulation sheet not removed from remote. 2. Insufficient solar charge. 3. Light unit not activated. | 1. Remove the clear insulation sheet from the remote control battery compartment. 2. Ensure solar panel receives 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. 3. Press the ON/OFF button on the light unit or remote to activate. |
| Light does not detect motion. | 1. Motion sensor obstructed. 2. Incorrect lighting mode selected. 3. Sensor dirty. | 1. Ensure no objects are blocking the motion sensor. 2. Switch to Mode 2 or Mode 3 using the remote control. 3. Clean the motion sensor lens gently. |
| Light stays on for a short period. | 1. Insufficient solar charge. 2. Frequent activations. | 1. Relocate solar panel to an area with more direct sunlight. 2. Reduce unnecessary activations by adjusting light unit placement or mode. |
| Remote control not working. | 1. Insulation sheet still in place. 2. Remote battery depleted. 3. Obstruction between remote and light. | 1. Remove the insulation sheet. 2. Replace the remote control battery (if applicable, typically CR2025). 3. Ensure clear line of sight to the light unit. |
