Setup and Installation

Component Overview
Installation Steps:
- Choose Location: Select a suitable location for your awning, ensuring sufficient space for full extension and proper clearance (minimum 71 inches height).
- Mount Main Housing:
- Position the main housing unit against a sturdy wall or post. Use a level to ensure it is perfectly vertical.
- Mark the drilling points for the mounting brackets.
- Drill pilot holes. For concrete/cement, use the included expansion bolts. For wood surfaces, use compatible wood screws (e.g., 3/8" lag bolts, not included) for a secure attachment.
- Secure the main housing firmly to the surface.
- Install Support Posts:
- Determine the desired extension distance for each screen. Mark the positions for the support posts.
- Ensure the support posts are aligned with the main housing and are at a slight outward tilt as designed to maintain fabric tension.
- Mark the drilling points for the base plates of the support posts.
- Drill pilot holes and secure the base plates using appropriate fasteners for your surface type.
- Attach Retractable Screens: Carefully extend each screen from the main housing and attach the handle end to its respective support post. Ensure the screen is taut and properly seated in the locking mechanism.
Operating Instructions
The Yaheetech Retractable Side Screen Awning operates manually for easy extension and retraction.
To Extend the Awning:
- Grasp the handle firmly on the end of the retractable screen.
- Gently pull the screen horizontally outwards from the main housing.
- Guide the handle into the locking mechanism on the designated support post. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
To Retract the Awning:
- Unlock the handle from the support post by pressing the release mechanism (if applicable) or lifting the handle slightly.
- Slowly guide the screen back towards the main housing. Do not release the handle abruptly, as the screen will retract quickly.
- Ensure the screen fully retracts into the housing.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life and appearance of your awning.
- Cleaning: Clean the polyester fabric with mild soap and water. Use a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before retracting. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
