6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Vacuum Sealing
- Prepare the Bag: Place the food item into a vacuum sealer bag, leaving at least 2-3 inches of space from the top edge of the bag to the food. Ensure the open end of the bag is clean and dry.
- Position the Bag: Open the lid of the vacuum sealer. Place the open end of the bag flat into the vacuum channel, ensuring it is centered over the sealing strip.
- Close the Lid: Press down firmly on both sides of the lid until it clicks into place, indicating it is automatically locked.
- Select Food Mode: Choose the appropriate food mode (Dry, Moist, Liquid) based on the contents of your bag.
- Select Operation Mode (Optional): For delicate items, select 'Gentle' mode. For standard items, 'Normal' mode is suitable.
- Adjust Seal Time (Optional): If sealing thicker bags or bags with moisture, you may adjust the seal time using the up/down arrows. The default is level 3.
- Start Vacuum and Seal: Press the 'Vac&Seal' button. The machine will automatically vacuum the air from the bag and then seal it. The seal countdown will be displayed.
- Release: Once the process is complete, the machine will automatically release the vacuum. Open the lid and remove the sealed bag.
6.2 Using 'Seal Only' Function
This function is used to create a seal without vacuuming, ideal for making bags from a roll or sealing delicate items that do not require vacuuming.
- Place the open end of the bag over the sealing strip.
- Close the lid until it locks.
- Press the 'Seal Only' button. The machine will heat and seal the bag.
- Once complete, open the lid and remove the sealed bag.
6.3 Using 'Pulse' Function
The 'Pulse' function provides manual control over the vacuum process, allowing you to stop vacuuming at any point before sealing. This is useful for delicate foods that might be crushed by full vacuum pressure.
- Place the food in the bag and position the bag in the vacuum channel.
- Close the lid until it locks.
- Press and hold the 'Pulse' button to start vacuuming.
- Release the 'Pulse' button when the desired vacuum level is reached.
- Immediately press the 'Seal Only' button to seal the bag.
6.4 Using 'Canister' Function
This function is for vacuum sealing with external canisters or containers using the included air suction hose.
- Prepare your vacuum-sealable canister or container according to its instructions.
- Connect one end of the air suction hose to the vacuum port on the INKBIRD INK-VS04 and the other end to the port on your canister.
- Press the 'Canister' button. The machine will begin to extract air from the canister.
- The machine will stop automatically when the vacuum is complete. Disconnect the hose.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and efficiency of your vacuum sealer. Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
- Regular Cleaning: After each use, wipe the machine with a damp cloth to remove any food residue or liquids. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
- Clean the Vacuum Channel: The detachable liquid collection tray can hold up to 300ml of liquid. Remove this tray and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reinserting.
- Check the Sealing Strip: Ensure the sealing strip is clean and free from debris. A dirty sealing strip can prevent a proper seal.
- Replace the Sealing Gasket: Over time, the sealing gasket may wear out. Regularly check for signs of wear and replace the gasket if necessary to maintain an effective seal. A replacement foam gasket is included.
- Avoid Overfilling Bags: To ensure a proper seal, avoid overfilling bags with food. Leave sufficient space at the top of the bag for effective sealing.
- Proper Storage: When not in use, store the vacuum sealer in a dry, cool place. Avoid direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
