1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the GiveBest Portable Space Heater, Model PTC-903. This ceramic electric heater is designed for indoor use, providing efficient and adjustable heating for small spaces such as bedrooms and offices. It features multiple heat settings, an adjustable thermostat, and essential safety mechanisms to ensure reliable operation. 2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, read and understand all instructions before using this heater.

  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater.
  • Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater, or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • Always unplug heater when not in use.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  • Do not cover the heater. The top of the heater clearly states "DO NOT COVER" to prevent overheating.

Overheat Protection

The heater is equipped with an automatic overheat protection system. If the heater's internal components reach a potentially unsafe temperature, the heater will automatically shut off. To reset, unplug the heater, wait 5-10 minutes for it to cool down, then plug it back in. Ensure air inlets and outlets are not blocked.

Tip-Over Protection

The heater includes a tip-over safety switch located at the bottom. If the heater is accidentally knocked over, the tip-over protection system will automatically shut off the unit. It will resume operation once it is placed upright on a flat, stable surface.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Retain packaging for off-season storage.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure it is at least 3 feet (0.9 m) away from any walls, furniture, curtains, or other combustible materials. Do not place it on soft surfaces like rugs or carpets that could block the air intake.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord directly into a 120V AC, 60Hz electrical wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

5. Operating Instructions

The GiveBest Portable Space Heater features two control knobs on the top for easy operation:

  1. Power On: Ensure the heater is plugged into a suitable outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Select Mode: Use the right knob (Mode Selector) to choose your desired operation mode:
    • OFF (0): Turns the heater off.
    • FAN (Fan Icon): Activates the fan for cool air circulation without heat.
    • HEAT I (I): Provides low heat at 750W.
    • HEAT II (II): Provides high heat at 1500W.
  3. Adjust Thermostat: Use the left knob (Thermostat Control) to set the desired temperature. Turn the dial towards '+' for warmer temperatures and towards '-' for cooler temperatures. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
  4. Power Off: Turn the Mode Selector knob to the 'OFF' position and unplug the heater from the wall outlet.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater.

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Periodically vacuum the air intake and exhaust grilles to remove dust and lint.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Heater does not turn on:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Check if the mode selector knob is set to a heat or fan setting (not OFF).
    • Verify the heater is on a flat, stable surface and the tip-over switch is engaged.
    • If the overheat protection has activated, unplug the heater for 5-10 minutes to reset.
  • Heater is not producing heat:
    • Ensure the mode selector knob is set to HEAT I or HEAT II, not FAN.
    • Adjust the thermostat control knob to a higher setting.
  • Heater is too noisy:
    • While designed for quiet operation, some fan noise is normal. Ensure the heater is on a stable surface to minimize vibrations.
