Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits can build up in your coffee maker, affecting performance and taste. Descaling should be performed regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Follow the instructions on a commercially available descaling solution for coffee makers, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1:1 ratio).
- Run Descaling Cycle: Fill the water reservoir with the descaling solution. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Run a full brew cycle.
- Rinse Cycles: After the descaling cycle, discard the solution. Fill the reservoir with fresh, clean water and run 2-3 full brew cycles with only water to rinse the system thoroughly.
