Setup
1. Powering the Device
The MangoKit MD5 can be powered by mains electricity or batteries.
- Mains Power: Connect the provided power supply to the DC IN port on the back of the radio and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Battery Power: For portable use, insert 4 x AA 1.5V (LR6) batteries (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the unit. Ensure correct polarity. The radio can also be powered by a power bank using the included USB C cable.

2. Antenna Setup
Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal reception, especially when using DAB/DAB+ or FM radio modes. Adjust its position for the best signal quality.
3. Initial Power-On and Auto-Scan
When you power on the radio for the first time, it will typically initiate an auto-scan for available DAB/DAB+ stations. This process automatically searches and stores all receivable stations.
- Press the large dial to turn the radio on.
- The radio will automatically scan for DAB stations.
- Once scanning is complete, the first available station will begin playing.

Operating Instructions
1. Mode Selection
Press the MODE button to cycle through available modes: DAB, FM, and Bluetooth.
2. DAB/DAB+ Radio Operation
- Station Selection: In DAB mode, rotate the large dial to browse available stations. Press the dial to select a station.
- Auto Scan: To perform a full scan for DAB stations, press MENU, navigate to "Full Scan" and press the dial to confirm.
- Preset Stations:
- To store a station: Tune to the desired station. LONG PRESS one of the preset buttons (1, 2, or 3+). Select a preset number using the dial and press to confirm.
- To recall a station: SHORT PRESS the corresponding preset button (1, 2, or 3+).
3. FM Radio Operation
- Tuning: In FM mode, rotate the large dial to manually tune to a frequency.
- Auto Scan: To auto-scan for FM stations, LONG PRESS the dial. The radio will scan and stop at the next strong station.
- Preset Stations: The process for storing and recalling FM presets is identical to DAB presets.
4. Bluetooth Operation
- Switch the radio to Bluetooth mode using the MODE button. The display will show "Bluetooth Pairing".
- On your smartphone or Bluetooth device, search for "Stereo DAB Radio" in the Bluetooth settings.
- Select "Stereo DAB Radio" to pair. Once connected, you can stream audio from your device to the radio.
5. Alarm, Clock, and Timer Functions
- Setting Alarms: Access the alarm settings via the MENU button. You can set dual alarms with customizable times, durations, and choose DAB or FM radio stations as ringtones.
- Sleep Timer: Set a sleep timer (OFF/15/30/45/60 minutes) via the MENU. The radio will automatically turn off after the set time.
- Snooze: When an alarm sounds, press the large dial to activate the snooze function for additional minutes of sleep.
6. Audio Settings (EQ)
The radio features a Class D amplifier and 2 x 2.5 inch front-facing drivers for stereo sound. You can adjust the audio profile:
- Access "My EQ setting" within the MENU.
- Choose from preset equalizer modes such as NORMAL, FLAT, JAZZ, ROCK, MOVIE, CLASSIC, POP, NEWS, or customize your own.
7. Headphone Use
Connect 3.5mm headphones to the headphone port on the back of the radio for private listening without disturbing others.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the radio's surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Care: If using batteries, remove them if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Storage: Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
