4. Setup and Installation
Warning: Electrical work should only be performed by qualified personnel. Always ensure power is disconnected and verified before beginning any installation or maintenance.
4.1 Tools Required:
- Wire strippers
- Screwdriver (if applicable for mounting or terminal screws)
- Multimeter (for testing connections and voltage)
4.2 Installation Steps:
- Disconnect Power: Before starting, ensure the main power supply to the circuit where the switch will be installed is completely turned off and locked out to prevent accidental re-energization.
- Prepare Mounting Hole: Create an appropriately sized rectangular mounting hole (approximately 31mm x 13.6mm) in the panel or enclosure where the switch will be installed. Ensure the hole is clean and free of burrs.
- Wire Connections:
- Identify the three pins on the switch. Typically, these are input, output, and a terminal for the indicator light (often ground or neutral). Refer to the specific wiring diagram for your application.
- Strip a small amount of insulation (approx. 6-8mm) from the ends of the wires to be connected.
- Connect the wires securely to the corresponding pins. Ensure a tight connection to prevent arcing, overheating, or loose contacts.
- Mount the Switch: Insert the switch into the prepared mounting hole. The switch is designed to snap firmly into place, providing a secure fit.
- Test Connections: Before restoring power, use a multimeter to check for proper continuity across the switch terminals in both ON and OFF positions, and to ensure there are no unintended short circuits.
- Restore Power: Once all connections are verified and the switch is securely mounted, safely restore power to the circuit.
