1. Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before using these appliances and retain for future reference.

• Always ensure the voltage on the rating label corresponds to your mains voltage.
• Do not immerse the appliance, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Do not use appliances for other than intended use.

3. Setup

Initial Cleaning:

1. Before first use, wipe the exterior of both appliances with a damp cloth.
2. For the coffee maker, wash the carafe, lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. For the toaster, remove the crumb tray and wipe it clean. Reinsert the crumb tray.

Placement:

Place both appliances on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliances.

Coffee Maker First Use Cycle:

1. Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the 12-cup mark.
2. Place the empty reusable filter into the filter basket.
3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
4. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to run a full brew cycle with only water. This cleans the internal components.
5. Discard the water and repeat if desired.

Brewing Coffee:

1. Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Refer to the water level indicator on the side for desired cups (up to 12).
2. Place the reusable filter into the filter basket. Add desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup.
3. Close the top lid and ensure the carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate.
4. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to start brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.
5. The 30-second anti-drip feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing without drips. Return the carafe within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
6. Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'keep warm' function for 120 minutes before automatically shutting off.

Setting the Clock:

1. Plug in the coffee maker. The display will show '12:00'.
2. Press the 'HOUR' button to set the hour. Press and hold for rapid advance.
3. Press the 'MINUTE' button to set the minute. Press and hold for rapid advance.

Delay Brew Function:

1. Prepare the coffee maker with water and coffee grounds as described in 'Brewing Coffee'.
2. Set the current time using the 'HOUR' and 'MINUTE' buttons.
3. Press the 'PROGRAM' button. The display will flash.
4. Use the 'HOUR' and 'MINUTE' buttons to set the desired brew time.
5. Press the 'DELAY BREW' button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the coffee maker will start brewing at the programmed time.

Brew Strength Setting:

Press the 'STRENGTH' button to toggle between regular and bold brew strength. The selected strength will be indicated on the display.

Toasting Bread:

1. Place one or two slices of bread, bagels, or waffles into the toasting slots. The self-centering guides will hold the food in place.
2. Select your desired browning level using the browning control dial (settings 1-10). Start with a medium setting (e.g., 3-4) and adjust as needed.
3. Press the carriage lever down until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin.
4. Once the selected browning level is reached, the toast will automatically pop up.
5. To stop the toasting cycle at any time, press the 'CANCEL' button.

Defrost Function:

To toast frozen bread, place the bread in the slots, select your desired browning level, and then press the 'DEFROST' button before pressing the carriage lever down. The defrost indicator light will illuminate.

Bagel Function:

To toast bagels, place the bagel halves (cut side facing inwards) into the slots, select your desired browning level, and then press the 'BAGEL' button before pressing the carriage lever down. The bagel indicator light will illuminate, toasting only the cut side.

6. Maintenance

Cleaning the Coffee Maker:

• Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and reusable filter in warm, soapy water. These parts are top-rack dishwasher safe.
• Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Descaling: Mineral deposits can build up over time. To descale, fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio). Run a full brew cycle. After the cycle, run two more cycles with clean water to rinse thoroughly. Descale every 2-4 weeks depending on water hardness.

Cleaning the Toaster:

• Always unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Pull out the removable crumb tray from the bottom of the toaster. Discard crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before reinserting.
• Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• Never insert utensils or fingers into the toasting slots.

7. Troubleshooting

Coffee Maker:

• Coffee not brewing: Ensure the coffee maker is plugged in, the 'ON/OFF' button is pressed, and the carafe is correctly positioned.
• Coffee tastes weak/strong: Adjust the amount of coffee grounds or use the 'STRENGTH' setting.
• Overflowing filter basket: Ensure you are not overfilling the filter basket with coffee grounds or water. Check if the anti-drip mechanism is stuck.

Toaster:

• Bread not toasting: Ensure the toaster is plugged in and the carriage lever is fully pressed down until it locks.
• Uneven toasting: Ensure bread slices are centered in the slots. Adjust browning control.
• Toast stuck: Unplug the toaster and carefully remove the toast using non-metallic tongs. Do not force the carriage lever.
