4. Understanding Your Readings

The monitor displays Systolic (SYS), Diastolic (DIA), and Pulse readings. You can compare your readings to the WHO (World Health Organization) standards provided on the back of the device or in the user manual to determine if your blood pressure is normal, low, or high.

WHO Standard Values for Blood Pressure
Blood Pressure ValueWHO Indicators
DIA≥110 or SYS≥1803 Severe
DIA≥100 & SYS≥1602 Moderate
DIA≥90 & SYS≥1401 Mild
DIA<90 & SYS<140N High Normal
DIA<85 & SYS<130N Normal
DIA<80 & SYS<120N Optimal

The monitor also calculates the average of the last three readings for more reliable results. Obtaining an average value from three consecutive measurements will yield a more accurate result.

5. Data Storage and Tracking

The OVUTEK Blood Pressure Monitor can store up to 245 readings for 3 different users. Each reading is timestamped, allowing you to easily view and track historical data to understand trends in your health status. This feature is ideal for personal use or for sharing within a family.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Device

Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap, then wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.

2. Storage

Store the device in the provided storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

3. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace all three AA batteries with new ones to ensure accurate readings and proper device function.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why does the blood pressure monitor give different or incorrect readings?
A: Incorrect readings may result from improper cuff positioning or failure to remain quiet and relaxed during measurement. It is recommended that the average of the last three readings be taken to increase the reliability of the measurement.
Q: Why does the screen of the BP machine not display or not work?
A: If the display is not functioning, it may be due to improperly installed batteries or depleted battery power. Please replace the batteries and try again.
Q: Can the cuff of the blood pressure machine inflate normally?
A: If the cuff does not inflate, check the cuff for tears and make sure the inflation tube is not compressed. It is recommended to read the user manual before taking measurements in order to be able to put the cuff on correctly.
Q: Can the BP monitor transmit data through Bluetooth?
A: Our blood pressure monitor does not support Bluetooth transmission but features memory storage, capable of storing 245 sets of data for 3 users.
