Setup

Connection Methods

The MageGee AIR75 supports three connection modes: wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 5.0. Use the switch located on the side of the keyboard to select your desired mode.

  1. Type-C Wired Connection:
    • Connect the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard's USB-C port and the other end to your computer's USB port.
    • Ensure the mode switch on the keyboard is set to the 'Wired' position (usually indicated by a cable icon or 'USB').
    • The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your system.
  2. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection:
    • Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver (dongle) stored in the compartment on the underside of the keyboard.
    • Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
    • Set the mode switch on the keyboard to the '2.4G' position.
    • The keyboard should connect automatically. If not, press FN + 4 to initiate pairing.
  3. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection:
    • Set the mode switch on the keyboard to the 'BT' position.
    • Press and hold FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 for 3-5 seconds to enter pairing mode for a specific Bluetooth channel. The indicator light will flash rapidly.
    • On your device (computer, tablet, etc.), search for Bluetooth devices and select 'MageGee AIR75' (or similar name) to connect.
    • Once connected, the indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid. You can pair up to three Bluetooth devices.

Charging the Keyboard

Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard and a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The keyboard can be used while charging. A full charge takes approximately 12 hours. The battery provides about 22 hours of use with RGB backlight on, and up to 100 hours with RGB backlight off.

Operating Instructions

RGB Backlight Control

The MageGee AIR75 features a vibrant RGB backlight with various effects. Use the following key combinations to control the lighting:

Mode Switching

The keyboard features a 2-in-1 knob for volume control and mode switching. Rotate the knob to adjust volume. Press the knob to switch between different modes or functions as indicated by the keyboard's current state.

Checking Battery Status

To check the current battery level, press FN + Backspace. The indicator lights will illuminate to show the approximate charge remaining.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Keyboard

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your keyboard:

Keycap and Switch Replacement (Hot-Swappable)

The MageGee AIR75 features hot-swappable switches, allowing for easy customization:

  1. Removing Keycaps: Use the keycap puller tool to gently grip the keycap and pull upwards.
  2. Removing Switches: Use the switch puller tool to carefully clamp onto the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull upwards. Ensure the switch is fully disengaged from the PCB.
  3. Installing Switches: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently press down until the switch clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
  4. Installing Keycaps: Align the keycap with the stem of the switch and press down firmly until it is seated.
