Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your wireless microphone system.
1. Receiver Placement and Connection
- Place the UHF wireless receiver on a stable, flat surface. Ensure it is within 200 feet (line of sight) of where the bodypack transmitters will be used.
- Attach the two antennas to the ANT. A and ANT. B connectors on the rear of the receiver. Position them vertically for optimal signal reception.
- Connect the power adapter to the receiver's Power Jack and then plug it into a standard AC wall outlet.
- Connect the receiver's audio output (either 1/4'' Mix Out or Balanced XLR Outputs) to your amplifier, speaker, or audio mixer using the provided 1/4'' audio cable or an XLR cable (not included).

2. Bodypack Transmitter and Microphone Setup
- Open the battery compartment of each bodypack transmitter and insert two AA batteries, observing correct polarity.
- Connect either a headset microphone or a lapel lavalier microphone to the 3-pin mini XLR input on the bodypack transmitter. Ensure a secure connection.
- Turn on the receiver by pressing the power button. The LCD display will illuminate.
- Turn on each bodypack transmitter by pressing and holding the ON/MUTE/OFF button. The bodypack's display will show battery level and frequency.
- The bodypack transmitters and receiver should automatically pair. Verify that the AF (Audio Frequency) indicator on the receiver illuminates for each active channel.

3. Quick Setup Overview

Operating Instructions
Frequency Selection
The system offers 2x30 adjustable frequencies in the 500MHz band. This allows for up to 4 units to be used simultaneously without interference. To change the frequency on a bodypack transmitter:
- With the bodypack powered on, press the "SET" button to enter frequency adjustment mode.
- Use the "+" and "-" buttons to cycle through available frequencies.
- The receiver will automatically sync to the new frequency.
Volume Adjustment
Adjust the volume for each channel directly from the bodypack transmitter or the receiver.
- Bodypack: Use the "VOL +" and "VOL -" buttons on the bodypack to adjust the input sensitivity.
- Receiver: Use the "VOL A" and "VOL B" knobs on the receiver to control the output volume for each channel.
Mute Function
The bodypack transmitter features a MUTE function for temporary audio cutoff.
- To Mute: Briefly press the ON/MUTE/OFF button on the bodypack. The display will indicate "MUTE".
- To Unmute: Briefly press the ON/MUTE/OFF button again.
Powering On/Off
- Receiver: Press the power button on the front panel.
- Bodypack: Press and hold the ON/MUTE/OFF button for a few seconds to power on or off.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your wireless microphone system.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the receiver and bodypack transmitters. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace AA batteries in the bodypack transmitters when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Remove batteries if the system will not be used for an extended period.
- Storage: Store the system in its carrying case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Microphone Care: Keep microphones dry and clean. Avoid dropping them or exposing them to excessive moisture.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Phenyx Pro PTU-52-2B system, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
No Sound Output
- Check Power: Ensure both the receiver and bodypack transmitters are powered on.
- Volume Levels: Verify that the volume knobs on the receiver and the volume settings on the bodypacks are not set to minimum or muted.
- Connections: Confirm all audio cables are securely connected between the receiver and your amplifier/mixer.
- Receiver Output: Ensure your amplifier/mixer input is correctly selected for the receiver's output.
- Microphone Connection: Check that the headset or lavalier microphone is securely plugged into the bodypack's 3-pin mini XLR input.
Interference or Dropouts
- Frequency Change: Try changing the operating frequency on the bodypack transmitter. The system offers 30 adjustable frequencies per channel to avoid interference.
- Line of Sight: Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the bodypack transmitter and the receiver. Obstacles can block the signal.
- Distance: Do not exceed the maximum operating distance of 200 feet.
- Antenna Position: Ensure receiver antennas are positioned vertically and unobstructed.
- Other Wireless Devices: Move away from other wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, other wireless microphones) that might be operating on similar frequencies.
Low Battery Indicator
- Replace the AA batteries in the bodypack transmitter immediately to prevent performance degradation or unexpected shutdown.
